What is the American Land Title Association?
The American Land Title Association (ALTA) was founded in 1907 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Its strategic priorities say ALTA works with its members "through advocacy, education and information-sharing, networking opportunities, and professional industry standards", and they include to "Advocate for the safe and efficient transfer of real property for all" and "Support development of a workforce that reflects the communities they serve". Its work spans advocacy on issues such as the FinCEN residential real estate reporting rule, title insurance endorsements against deed fraud, events, publications and education for the industry.
