Job Description

We are looking for a professional to serve as a technical reference in Data Engineering, leading the evolution of the data platform and ensuring the delivery of scalable, efficient solutions aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical reference in data architecture, with a focus on Databricks and AWS environments.
  • Be responsible for critical data pipelines, including ingestion, processing, and serving.
  • Ensure the adoption of engineering standards, guaranteeing code quality, testing, observability, governance, and SLA compliance.
  • Lead architecture and technical design decisions, considering scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization aspects.
  • Actively participate in FinOps initiatives, promoting operational efficiency and optimal resource utilization of the platform.
  • Guide and develop data engineers through mentoring, code reviews, and dissemination of best practices.
  • Work in partnership with business, product, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into robust and scalable solutions.
  • Support technical prioritization of the roadmap, balancing delivery needs, platform sustainability, and technical debt reduction.
  • Lead the management and resolution of critical incidents, contributing to the evolution of operational maturity in the data environment.
  • Promote continuous improvement of processes, tools, and practices in the Data Engineering area.

Qualifications

  • Consolidated experience in data engineering (+5 years)
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership role or as a reference within the team
  • Strong command of SQL, Python, and/or Scala
  • Experience with modern data architectures (Data Lake / Lakehouse)
  • Hands-on experience with Spark / Databricks (or similar)
  • Experience with cloud (preferably AWS)
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling (analytics and operational)
