Job Summary: We are looking for a leader in test engineering to realize both high-speed development and quality improvement for our online dating app, "Pairs."
The use of AI agents to accelerate development is already becoming common across the industry. At the same time, we believe that how to continuously ensure quality without slowing down development speed in the face of ever-accelerating development is a more important challenge than ever before.
We are currently aiming for a state where not only developers but also AI agents can autonomously proceed with development while verifying quality by incorporating automated testing and continuous feedback into the development process, and creating an environment where the impact of changes and quality issues can be detected early.
To achieve this, it is essential to have an environment where automated testing and continuous feedback are integrated into the development process, allowing both developers and AI agents to detect the impact of changes and quality issues early and lead to corrections.
Furthermore, for continuous improvement, it is necessary to quantitatively grasp the state of development speed and quality by continuously measuring test coverage, test execution status, defect detection rates, defect leakage to production, and incident occurrence status.
This position will start by formulating the company-wide Quality Engineering strategy, designing and implementing the foundation for automated testing and quality visualization, and building a system where each development team can autonomously improve quality in their daily work. In the future, we expect you to collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to organize the quality important to the product, design signals and metrics to capture its state, and lead continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Formulate the company-wide Quality Engineering strategy and build a development environment that can ensure quality without slowing down development speed in development utilizing AI agents.
- Design and implement automated testing infrastructure, test data, quality checks in CI/CD, and continuous feedback mechanisms.
- Develop an environment where not only developers but also AI agents can detect the impact of changes and quality issues and lead to corrections.
- Continuously measure test coverage, test execution status, defect detection rates, defect leakage to production, incidents, etc., and visualize the state of development speed and quality.
- Identify quality issues and bottlenecks from data and lead improvements in development processes, test strategies, architecture, and tools.
- Collaborate with each development team to establish processes and operations that allow the teams themselves to autonomously improve quality in their daily development.
- Lead technical selection, design, implementation, and review related to test automation and quality infrastructure in a hands-on manner.
- Take charge of team management, including mentoring, goal setting, evaluation, and hiring of members involved in Quality Engineering.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to organize the quality important to the product and promote the design of signals and metrics to capture its state.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in software development or test automation as a Software Engineer, SET, SDET, QA Engineer, Quality Engineer, etc.
- Experience in test design and implementation in Web applications, mobile applications, or backend systems.
- Knowledge and practical experience in test automation at multiple layers, such as unit tests, integration tests, E2E tests, and API tests.
- Experience in incorporating automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to design and implement test infrastructure, development tools, and business systems using programming languages.
- Experience in analyzing data such as test coverage, defects, incidents, and release quality and leading to improvements.
- Experience in involving multiple development teams and stakeholders to promote technical and organizational improvements.
- Management experience in engineering teams or Quality Engineering teams.
- Fluent communication skills in Japanese.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in software development utilizing AI coding agents or Generative AI.
- Experience in introducing code generation, test generation, code review, quality analysis, etc., by AI agents.
- Experience in quality improvement or building test infrastructure in large-scale or high-traffic services.
- Experience in designing test strategies for multiple platforms, including mobile applications.
- Experience in defining, visualizing, and operating quality metrics or Engineering Metrics.
- Knowledge of Shift Left Testing, test pyramids, continuous testing, Observability, etc.
- Experience in establishing QA as a responsibility of the entire development team rather than as an independent verification process.
- Experience in collaborating with Product Managers to define product quality, including reliability, performance, and usability, in addition to functional requirements.
- Experience in collaborating with global teams using English.
