Your Tasks
As a Network Specialist (m/f/d), you are responsible for planning, designing, and documenting customer projects within network infrastructures. On behalf of a regionally well-positioned IT systems house, you advise customers operating in various industries (e.g., automotive, hospitals, software manufacturers) throughout Baden-Württemberg who need support with complex infrastructures across their various branches. You also handle the setup of NAC systems, network configuration, and automation of software rollouts and recurring administrative tasks.
Your responsibilities also include:
- Implementation and support of network switches/routers
- Monitoring network structures and responsibility for backup and smooth operation of hardware and software components within the network infrastructure
- Troubleshooting switches/routers/network applications OSI 1-7
- Analysis, consulting, and development of network management systems
- Incident and problem handling as well as release management
Thanks to partnerships with many manufacturers and their extensive support, you will participate in regular high-quality training sessions and have the opportunity to attend national and international events.
Must Haves
- Completed IT training or degree in computer science
- Several years of professional experience in network infrastructure
- Excellent knowledge of standard network technologies (IPv4, TCP/IP, switching, routing, network segmentation)
- At least one network certification, e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- A creative and open-minded person with good communication skills and strong sense of responsibility
- Understanding of service-oriented work, hands-on mentality
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
Nice to Haves
- Willingness to expand existing knowledge through certifications/training
- Experience in systems house business including independent customer consulting and support
- Ideally certifications from manufacturers such as Extreme Networks (e.g., EDS, ECS) or Cisco (e.g., CCNP or CCIE)
- Experience with technologies such as IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF
- ITIL knowledge
