THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Health & Safety Manager, you will contribute to ensuring that occupational health, safety, and fire protection are sustainably maintained at our site. Together with your team, you will ensure smooth and safe processes, strengthen the health and safety culture at our location, and support your site Safety Lead with all key topics.

Your work is characterized by a motivating team spirit based on appreciation, respect, and openness. Together with your team, you will support operations in meeting their occupational safety goals and actively work on improving our safety concept. In doing so, you will identify with our leadership principles, live our values, and use both as a compass in your daily business.

WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING FOR YOU…

  • Ensure that we fully comply with legal requirements for occupational safety, health protection, fire protection, and environmental protection. Work closely with our occupational safety specialists.

  • Advise our managers and employees on all aspects of occupational safety, health protection, fire protection, and environmental protection, for example, during the design and redesign of workplaces and processes.

  • Create evaluations and reports on key safety metrics and, in close coordination with your management team, initiate preventive measures to achieve measurable goals together.

  • Maintain cooperation with the professional association (Berufsgenossenschaft) as well as local authorities, the fire department, the company doctor, and the works council.

  • Assist in organizing operational training for first aiders, fire safety assistants, and evacuation assistants.

  • Act as an interface and contact person for cross-departmental projects and represent the safety department at important events such as the ASA meeting.

WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF…

  • You have successfully completed your technical studies or comparable training with a technician, engineering, or master craftsman degree.

  • You possess a qualification as an Occupational Safety Specialist (according to ASiG) and bring initial experience in the field of Health & Safety.

  • Training as a fire safety officer is an advantage, but not mandatory.

  • You can confidently apply safety-related laws, regulations, and guidelines.

  • You keep yourself independently informed about innovations in occupational and fire safety and look forward to completing additional qualifications in the field of HSE (e.g., immission control officer, hazardous materials officer, etc.) together with Zalando.

  • You take responsibility for your tasks and independently identify new challenges. With high commitment and flexibility, you proactively develop ideas to optimize processes and strengthen our safety culture.

  • You use software, apps, and web tools confidently and look forward to deepening your knowledge of Google Workspace.

  • You have strong communication skills and pass on your knowledge in a way that is understandable and adapted to the knowledge level of your colleagues. Your good written and spoken German and English skills simplify communication within the team and across departmental boundaries.
