As Health & Safety Manager*in, you help ensure that occupational safety, health and fire protection are sustainably guaranteed at our site. Together with your team, you ensure smooth and safe processes and strengthen the health and safety culture at our site, supporting your Safety Lead on site in all important matters.

Your work is shaped by a motivating team spirit based on appreciation, respect and openness. Together with your team, you support the Operations team in achieving their occupational safety goals and actively contribute to improving our safety concept. In doing so, you identify with our leadership guidelines, live our values and use both as a compass in day-to-day business.

WHY THE ROLE IS EXCITING FOR YOU…

• Ensure that we fully comply with legal requirements for occupational safety, health protection, fire protection and environmental protection. Work closely with our occupational safety specialists.

• Advise our managers and employees on all aspects of occupational safety, health protection, fire protection and environmental protection, for example when redesigning workplaces and processes.

• Prepare analyses and reports on key safety metrics and, in close coordination with your management team, initiate preventive measures to achieve measurable goals together.

• Maintain cooperation with the Berufsgenossenschaft (statutory accident insurance institution) as well as with local authorities, the fire service, the company doctor and the works council.

• Help organise the in-house training of first aiders, fire protection and evacuation helpers.

• Act as an interface and point of contact for cross-departmental projects and represent the Safety department at important events such as the ASA meeting.

WE WOULD LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU IF…

• You have successfully completed a technical degree or comparable training with a technician, engineer or master craftsman qualification.

• You hold a qualification as a Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (occupational safety specialist, according to ASiG) and bring initial experience in the field of Health & Safety.

• Training as a fire protection officer is an advantage but not mandatory.

• You can reliably apply safety-related laws, regulations and guidelines.

• You independently keep up to date with developments in occupational and fire safety and look forward to completing additional qualifications in HSE areas (immission control officer, hazardous substances officer, etc.) together with Zalando.

• You take responsibility for your tasks and independently identify new challenges. With high commitment and flexibility, you proactively develop ideas to optimise processes and strengthen our safety culture.

• You use software, apps and web tools safely and look forward to deepening your knowledge of Google Workspace.

• You are a strong communicator and share your knowledge clearly, adapted to the knowledge level of your colleagues. Your good German and English skills, written and spoken, facilitate communication within the team and across departments.
