Equipment Manager

4 x 8hr days (100% pay)Onsite · Buffalo, USA

Summary:

Under general supervision the Equipment Manager is responsible for the management of all athletic uniforms and equipment for department teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist department coaches in purchasing athletic uniforms and equipment.
  • Establish, maintain, and reconcile uniform and equipment inventories, and oversee the maintenance of all inventories for the department.
  • Oversee uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practice and on game day.
  • Oversee and coordinate all game day equipment preparations and setup.
  • Ensure that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of athletic equipment staff and/or students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities including laundry and equipment repair.
  • Transport team equipment to off-site venues as needed using university vehicles
  • Hire, train, schedule Equipment Room Support Staff
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or another related field.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience working in an athletic department or working in equipment management.

Physical & Environmental:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to outside environments, hot, dry, wet, and cold.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience as an Athletic Equipment Manager or similar role
  • AEMA certified or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.
  • Ensure adherence to NCAA rules and institutional policies
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • Valid driver's license required

Work Location: Buffalo, NY

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt, 11-Month Posistion

Pay: $43,000-$45,000 Annually
