Architectural Specialist

Our Animal Health division develops and produces vaccines and pharmaceutical products for animals, with production and R&D sites worldwide. The locations in Boxmeer and De Bilt play a key role in this and operate according to the highest quality and safety standards (GxP).
Within the Manufacturing Division, Site Engineering is responsible for realizing and managing critical investment projects. In addition, the team supports the organization with technical consultancy and troubleshooting.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are central.
About the role
As an Architectural Specialist, you are responsible for guiding both the design and execution of various investment projects. You provide functional direction to architectural engineers and ensure the safeguarding of quality, planning, and work methods.
You combine technical expertise with coaching leadership and play a key role in ensuring compliance, safety, and project results. Where necessary, you actively support execution and act as a subject matter expert within the architectural field. Additionally, you are a content expert within your field and actively contribute to knowledge development and coaching within the team.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Coaching and directing engineers and ensuring work is performed according to established standards (GxP and non-GxP)
- Acting as lead engineer in larger projects under the direction of a project manager
- Supporting complex issues and escalations within the architectural domain
- Requesting and evaluating quotes
- Independently designing and developing investment projects according to applicable laws and regulations
- Checking and assessing technical documentation from suppliers and engineering partners
- Supervising architectural work during the execution phase in coordination with the site construction manager
- Instructing and supervising contractors and external parties
- Checking and assessing completed work, together with project engineers where necessary
- Supervising (interim) handovers and monitoring progress
- Monitoring and controlling project schedules and changes (additional and reduced work)
- Ensuring correct processing of as-built documentation in the document management system
- Implementing new laws and regulations, standards, and procedures within the field
- Overseeing compliance with safety regulations during all project phases
- Managing external engineering firms
Your profile
- Completed HBO degree in Architecture, with an affinity for mechanical and electrical engineering
- Several years of relevant experience as an architectural engineer or specialist
- Experience with coaching and functionally directing colleagues
- Decisive, structured, and result-oriented
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative work style
- Proactive in identifying and implementing improvements
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Accurate and able to work independently
- Good command of the Dutch and English language
