We are seeking an AKT Associate – Chemical Processing and treatment for a 3-month, full-time, fixed-term position, funded through Innovate UK's Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) programme.
You will work with the University of Lincoln and Pyroplast Energy Ltd to investigate purification routes for waste-plastic pyrolysis char, with the aim of reducing inorganic contaminants and producing a cleaner carbon-rich material for potential higher-value applications.
The project will involve laboratory-scale experimental work, including char preparation, thermal and chemical treatment, materials characterisation and data analysis. You will evaluate different treatment approaches and contribute to practical recommendations for further industrial development.
You will benefit from supervision and mentoring by academic and industrial experts, alongside access to the University of Lincoln's laboratory facilities and relevant training opportunities.
The position will be based primarily at the University of Lincoln's Brayford Pool campus, with occasional visits to the industry partner.
