About Vetro Recruitment
Who We Are
Vetro Recruitment is a UK specialist recruitment agency for the Health, Social Care, Housing and Education sectors, founded in 2015. We provide permanent, contract and temporary recruitment solutions across six divisions: Support Work, Nursing, Housing, Social Work, Management, and Education.
The company was founded by — and is still led by — Founding Directors Alastair Tulloch and Alun Davies. The Vetro team has "over 200 years of combined sector experience" across our roughly 30 named team members, with offices in Caerphilly (HQ), Holywell, Swansea, Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton and Ipswich.
Vetro was recognised on the UK's Best Workplaces™ 2026 list (small business category) at the Great Place to Work awards held at London's Grosvenor House — the second consecutive year of recognition (#22 ranked top 100 the previous year). Founding Director Alun Davies described the award as "a testament to the incredible people we have here. Our mission has always been to create an environment where ambition and well-being coexist."
Where will I work?
We work primarily on-site from our UK offices in Caerphilly (Sir Alfred Owen Way), Holywell, Swansea, Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, and Ipswich. Some team members also work 100% remotely within the UK.
What is the Vetro team like?
Driven by empathy, reliability, and a passion for quality, the Vetro team is led by Founding Directors Alastair Tulloch and Alun Davies, with associate directors and divisional managers leading each specialism. Office life includes Opie — the office dog — who serves as "security, hoovering unwanted food, a therapist, and a petting corner."
The office environments are described as "luxury": air conditioning, large break-out spaces with TVs and sofas, water coolers, a free sweet shop, and "Al's Bar" with a fully stocked free beer fridge. All consultants work on Apple iMacs with access to industry-leading CRM and shift-booking tools.
Work-Life Balance
We are in our third year of a company-wide 4-day working week. As Founding Director Alastair Tulloch put it: "We didn't switch to a 4-day week just as a perk; we did it because it makes us better at our jobs. In this industry, burnout is real. By giving our teams a day off in the week, they come in with much more focus."
We use a unique split-team model to deliver seamless five-day coverage for our clients while every consultant gets a vital mid-week break. Team Leader Katie Hackett describes how it lands in practice: "When I'm off on Wednesday, I am truly off. Because we cover for each other so effectively, I can completely step away from the business knowing my clients and candidates are in safe hands."
