About VERSA
What is VERSA?
VERSA is an Australian digital agency that delivers digital transformations powered by conversational AI and end-to-end experience design. The agency describes itself as a partner "for the next horizon of digital experiences" — driving "digital acceleration through intelligent design, AI enablement, and end-to-end digital delivery expertise." VERSA offers five services (Experience Strategy, Innovation Sprints, Experience Design, Scalable Technology, AI Acceleration) and six solution categories (The Experiential, The Conversational, The Transactional, The Educational, The Transformational, and The Commercial).
The agency is known for headline-making projects with global brands and Australian public-sector clients. For Netflix, VERSA launched The Sandman with an immersive voice experience that used AI, sound and storytelling to generate personalised dreams. Other notable clients include BIG4 Holiday Parks, Village Cinemas, City of Sydney, Beyond Blue, Carpet Court, City of Port Phillip, and Museums Victoria.
Where will I work?
VERSA is a remote-first agency with two physical offices in Australia: Melbourne (80 Balmain Street, Cremorne, VIC 3121) and Brisbane (111 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane, QLD 4101). The team works globally — "We're working around the globe to build a better world from the industry up" — and embraces fully remote work. The Melbourne office holds the company's heritage as one of Australia's pioneering 4-day-week adopters.
What is the VERSA team like?
The team is values-led. "Better than yesterday — we're continuously striving for small, incremental improvements every single day, in our processes, in our thinking, and in our craft." "Experts in the unknown — clients come to us not because we claim to know everything, but because we're experts in navigating complexity, ambiguity, and change." "Forever experimenting — we treat every project as an opportunity to test, learn, and push the boundaries of what's possible." And "Failure is our fuel — we see failure as a bruise not a tattoo; an opportunity to learn about ourselves and each other."
The team also gathers regularly for charity: "Every other month we come together to give back. Over 15 years we've packed food boxes, raised thousands, and hosted countless fundraising events for causes close to our hearts." The agency champions inclusive, forward-thinking policies industry-wide — CEO Kath Blackham has spoken to MPs and leaders of the UK Labour party about VERSA's positive experience with a 4-day work week.
Work-Life Balance
In 2019, VERSA closed its doors on Wednesdays and made the 4-day work week permanent. As CEO Kath Blackham put it, "the decision to divide the work week in half was really purposeful... a break in the middle of the week also means they can get on top of work by Tuesday afternoon and hit the ground running on Thursday morning." The result has been measurable: "Our revenue has grown by 46 per cent over the last 12 months, whilst our profit has almost tripled. People have become more efficient — better staff retention, there's less work that needs to be redone." Employees work 30 hours per week and are paid for 37.5.
