What is Unity Trust Bank?
Unity Trust Bank is a UK commercial bank built for the social economy. It "was set up in 1984 to give ethical banking to organisations that help others", traces its roots to the trade union movement, and works from the principle that "banking can, and should, be a force for good". Its vision is "to become the bank of choice for socially minded organisations in the UK".
Its customers are charities, community enterprises, unions, housing providers and other organisations that "create positive social, economic and environmental impact across the UK". Unity runs what it calls a "double bottom line", pairing financial performance with social impact, and says "every loan we agree to is linked to one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals".
Where will I work?
Unity is headquartered at Four Brindleyplace in Birmingham, home to its registered office and its UK-based Unity Experience contact centre team. The bank runs a hybrid model: "We embrace a hybrid working model that empowers our team to find the balance that works best for them, whether that's collaborating in the office or working remotely. It's all part of our commitment to supporting wellbeing and flexibility."
The office is "bright, comfortable, and crafted to support focus and collaboration", and Unity says it is "on track to reach Net Zero across our own emissions by 2035".
