About TheSoul Publishing
What is TheSoul Publishing?
TheSoul Publishing (also TheSoul Group) is one of the world's largest independent digital studios — 100+ billion monthly social-media views and 2.5+ billion subscribers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap and more (5-Minute Crafts, Bright Side, La La Life, and many others). Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, with a team of ~2,600 people in 70+ countries.
Where will I work?
Wherever — TheSoul is a remote-first global organisation. 80% of the team works fully remotely from 70+ countries. There are some hubs (Cyprus, primarily) but no return-to-office mandate.
What is the TheSoul team like?
A distributed creative-tech-business team of ~2,600 covering content production, editorial, animation, social-platform ops, talent management, creator finance, business operations, and engineering.
Work-Life Balance
TheSoul Publishing is famous for one of the most aggressive async-first / no-meetings policies in the industry, in place since 2019:
- "As we mostly work in an asynchronous environment, we hold meetings only when necessary." (from the official employee handbook at jointhesoul.com/life/handbook)
- "we maintain our core principle of asynchronous, written communication — a style where responses aren't expected immediately."
- "We respond within 1 business day across all company systems (Slack, Google Calendar invitations, etc.)."
- When meetings DO happen, the requester must create an agenda and request 24 hours in advance; the company tries to cap meetings at two people / 30 minutes.
- Internal email is also banned — communication runs through Asana and Slack with the 1-business-day async response window.
Perks and Benefits
- Asynchronous, written-first communication as a core principle — verbatim in the employee handbook.
- Meetings only when necessary — with strict agenda + advance-notice rules.
- No internal email — async tools (Slack, Asana) instead.
- 1 business day response time across systems — true async expectations.
- Remote-first — 80% of the team works fully remote from 70+ countries.
