About The Black Sheep Agency
What is The Black Sheep Agency?
The Black Sheep Agency is a Houston-based, B Corp-accredited brand strategy and creative agency working on causes that matter. The homepage opens verbatim: "We're the Black Sheep Agency. We are Black Sheep, a brand strategy and creative agency that wakes up every day with the goal of activating people around things that matter." The follow-up framing reinforces the mission: "Our work is driven by a relentless need to do more."
Founded in 2009 by CEO Aimee Woodall, the agency positions itself as architects of culture and advocates of change, partnering with mission-driven organisations across the United States. As a Certified B Corporation, Black Sheep's decisions are framed around the values that B Corp accreditation requires — particularly the principle of "people over profit" (Aimee Woodall, October 2023).
Where will I work?
The agency is headquartered at 611 West 22nd Street, Houston, Texas and operates a hybrid schedule combining in-office and remote days (per DB remote_level=hybrid).
What is the Black Sheep team like?

Work-Life Balance
The Black Sheep Agency moved to a 4-day work week in October 2023. CEO Aimee Woodall announced the experiment on LinkedIn (October 16, 2023) with a verbatim explanation that aligns directly with the agency's B Corp values: "it's time for things to be different" and "people over profit". The schedule is structured around 32 hours per week minimum, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays defined verbatim as: "The team can choose to work on Fridays if we want uninterrupted time or if things pile up, but it's not required or expected." Compensation was unchanged.
Woodall framed the experiment's aim around wellness, healthy work-life boundaries, reducing "idle time and the pressure to 'look busy'", and giving employees rest rather than additional work demands. Early observed trends included reduced overtime as schedules stabilised, more meaningful meetings with clearer priorities, improved productivity and focus on workdays, and team members using Friday for previously deferred personal appointments.
Perks and Benefits
The Black Sheep Agency's public website does not currently publish a detailed benefits inventory (the /careers and /about routes both return 404 at time of capture). What is verifiable: the 32-hour minimum work week with unchanged compensation, B Corp accreditation, and an ongoing experimentation mindset around team wellness. Outreach is via the homepage Contact form.
