About Spin Brands

What is Spin Brands?

Spin Brands is a London-based creative-first social media agency that helps global brands stay relevant by combining data-driven strategy with social-first content. Spin was launched in 2016 by co-founders Max Whicher and Alex Bodini, who first met in the cycling industry: each had grown his own cycling brand through digital marketing, developed a knack for social, and built Spin to turn that craft into a service. Today Spin is a passionate, multi-cultural team of 100+ social media experts working across organic, paid, creative, influencer, community management and measurement.

Named clients include Google, Five Guys, Fortnum & Mason, Instax, Fujifilm and Princes. The Spin Group also includes sister brands Be A Bear and Tiny Studios, and operates regionally as Spin US, Spin APAC and Spin EMEA — based in London, working globally.

Where will I work?

The London office is at 56 Ayres Street, SE1 1EU (Borough). Spin offers flexible hybrid working: "Work from your favourite spot at home 3 days per week, or abroad for up to a month each year." Two days a week of in-office collaboration in central London is the working default, but the policy explicitly supports a workation month abroad each year.

What is the Spin team like?

The leadership team is multi-functional: Alex Bodini (CEO), Max Whicher (CBO), Alyssa Drysdale (MD), Jake Thompson (Creative Director), Lee Murray (Finance Director), Becca Titmuss (HR Manager), Ellen O'Mahony (Talent Partner) and Lucy Allen (PR & Communications Director). The published values are five short imperatives: "always be curious / keep up / uphold high standards / act with initiative / show respect, always." The full team listing on the about page spans account directors, strategists, paid-media executives, content creators, designers, post-production supervisors and resource managers — the full vertical of a social agency.

Work-Life Balance

Spin publishes a perks list on its careers page that the team uses to describe the working pattern: Friday 4pm finishes ("to kickstart your weekend"), three days a week of working from home, the option to work abroad for up to a month each year, and 25 days of holiday plus one extra day per year of tenure, with the option to buy more. Spin also keeps the door open for opt-in 4-day work week arrangements for some roles (32 hours), described verbatim on the careers page as "We are open to applications for a 4 day work week (32 hours)."

Perks and Benefits

From the Spin careers page verbatim: 25 days of holiday + 1 extra per year of tenure + option to buy more; bonus scheme of up to 20% additional salary on company wins; fully comprehensive private healthcare, including mental health and physiotherapy; Friday 4pm finishes; enhanced parental leave; personal L&D budget; enhanced pension contributions; 3 WFH days/week + 1 month abroad per year; and regular team outings, events and socials planned by the social committee. Spin is "dedicated to providing a level playing field for all candidates" and publishes a diversity, equality and inclusion commitment on its careers page.
