What is SideQuest?
SideQuest is the largest standalone Virtual Reality content platform — an alternative app store for Meta Quest VR headsets that hosts indie titles, early-access games, mixed-reality experiences and PC VR ports. Verbatim from /careers: "In early 2019 Oculus broke the news that their flagship standalone headset the Oculus Quest would have a highly curated store. Unlike their stores for the Rift and Go, developers would now need to submit a pitch for consideration with no guarantees of approval. Lot's of developers had the same problem so we launched SideQuest as an easy to use alternative to the curated Oculus store."
Today SideQuest has grown into "a vibrant community of creators and consumers of content" with millions of monthly active users and strong social-media presence. The company's published self-assessment verbatim: "Our growth has been 100% organic... we estimate we have 25% of the standalone market using SideQuest." SideQuest is fully remote with no hybrid expectation. Verbatim from /careers: "Fully remote work, never hybrid, never expected to travel."
