Who we are

Seed&Spark is a crowdfunding platform for storytellers — founded by Emily Best (Founder & CEO) and now in its second decade. The company's focus is helping diverse creators build sustainable careers while amplifying the cultural impact of their work. Through its sister platform Film Forward (and Impact Screening Experiences), Seed&Spark also brings exceptional films into workplaces to build inclusive culture and drive individual and organisational transformation.

What we do

Since launch, creators on Seed&Spark have raised $90,090,729 across 7,574 projects with an 82% success rate — well above industry averages. The platform is the only one of its kind requiring an inclusion statement from creators; 82% of funded projects have women in key roles; and roughly 80% of all crowdfunded dollars go directly to wages in local communities. The Creative Action Board includes filmmakers and creators Mark Duplass, Erika Alexander, Janina Gavankar, Emily Gordon, Jeff Yang, and Lisa Cunningham; the Equity & Inclusion Advisory Board pulls together leaders from Culture Amp, Slack, Axon, the NYC Comptroller's Office, and other organisations.

Where will I work?

From the team page: "We've got a small but passionate team of smart, creative and purpose-driven experts working hard to connect people through stories that matter. And we're distributed all over the country!" The current named team is Emily Best (Founder/CEO), Gabriella Bottoni (Director of Creator Success), Mike Morin (Customer Support Senior Manager), Rocco Garrison (Creator Success Specialist), and Jessica Harris (Business Operations Manager).

What is the Seed&Spark team like?
