About Sandqvist

Who we are

Sandqvist was founded in Stockholm in 2004 by three childhood friends — Anton, Daniel, and Sebastian — who split their time between the city and the Scandinavian forest and couldn't find bags that worked in both worlds. Most options were either too technical or too polished, so they decided to make their own. From the start, the idea was simple: bags with useful features, a clean and minimalist look, better materials, and a more responsible way of producing them.

What we do

Sandqvist designs functional, long-lasting bags for everyday life — backpacks, handbags, briefcases, weekenders, crossbodies, tote bags, and accessories — for commuting, study, travel, and the outdoors. The design language is rooted in Scandinavian clarity: simple shapes, balanced proportions, and small details that matter when a bag is used daily (dedicated laptop pockets, smart compartments, durable materials). Many of the bags are designed to move between office wear and outdoor clothing without switching styles. The brand is stocked at owned Stockholm stores plus a global network of retailers across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America.

Where will I work?

Sandqvist is headquartered at Klippgatan 11, Stockholm, Sweden. The current open role on the careers page is for Sales Associates at the Stockholm stores. From the about page: "We are a small, international company where things move quickly and everyone's contribution matters."

What is the Sandqvist team like?

Sandqvist describes its values as "taking responsibility, offering sustainable quality, creating products that can be repaired and making people feel welcome and included." Sustainability is treated not as a separate project but as a default in materials sourcing, supplier relationships, and product design.

Since 2023, Sandqvist's employees work a 4-day workweek of 30 hours with no reduction in salary. The published rationale (sustainability policies page): "The ambition of this solution is to maintain the same productivity and service but improve the work-life balance for our employees. We believe that this improves the quality of life and contributes to personal development, both for us as a company and on an individual level. Through this, we also want to challenge business norms and be a frontrunner when it comes to building a successful, sustainable and responsible company."
