About Safer London
What is Safer London?
Safer London is a charity established in 2005 that works to prevent gang violence, vulnerability, sexual exploitation, and crime among young people up to age 25 across all London boroughs. The organisation provides early intervention and specialist support to young Londoners and their families who are affected by violence and exploitation.
Safer London works directly with young people through specialist caseworkers, offering lower caseloads than statutory services (up to 12 young people at a time) to ensure quality, impactful support.
Where will I work?
Safer London is headquartered at Skyline House, 200 Union Street, London SE1 0LX, with modern offices in Southwark. The organisation operates a remote-first culture with agile working, meaning staff have the flexibility to work from home, the Southwark office, or community locations such as libraries and co-working spaces.
What is the team like?
With approximately 54 employees, Safer London is a medium-sized team of specialist caseworkers, youth workers, and support staff united by a shared passion for supporting London's young people. The organisation values an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, and diversity drives their strength. Regular reflective practice sessions provide safe, professional spaces for the team to share, learn, and grow together.
Work-Life Balance
Safer London operates a genuine 4-day, 32-hour working week at full pay, implemented since 1st April 2024. Every employee has a regular day off each week with no impact on their salary. This is a company-wide policy, not role-specific. Combined with remote-first agile working and a flexible working policy from day one, Safer London offers outstanding work-life balance for the charity sector.
