About Powerdot

What is Powerdot?

Powerdot calls itself "The largest independent charger operator in Europe" and its homepage shows "12,800 live charging points" in "6 markets". Its own timeline says Powerdot was "created in Portugal" in 2018, expanded to France, Spain and Poland in 2021, took a "€150M raise from Antin Infrastructure Partners" in 2022, closed a "New equity and debt raise : total of €265M" in 2024 and made an "Acquisition of InstaVolt Iberia" in 2026. The adverts explain the model: it invests in, deploys and operates fast-charging stations "located exclusively in commercial parking lots: supermarkets, shopping centers, and restaurants", and says "We're a pure-play infrastructure provider". It has "partnered with over 1,200 businesses across Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Poland". The live Greenhouse board lists 23 roles in two very different groups: 12 office roles (product and engineering, go-to-market, partnership development and operations) and 11 operational roles (nine field technicians, a rotating-shift customer support role and a real-time technical support role).

Where will I work?

The website footer gives the head office as Rua Carlos Alberto da Mota Pinto nº17, 6B, 1070-313, Lisbon, Portugal. The 12 office roles are in Lisbon (3), Porto (3), elsewhere in Portugal (2, listed as "Portugal") and France (4). The adverts do not state a remote or office-day policy; they mention "in-person teamwork" and "Free office snacks and unlimited coffee & Meal allowance for every worked day". On Built In, which is a third-party listing, most Lisbon and Porto roles are labelled "In-Office", the France Strategic Account Management Coordinator and the Portugal Product Director are labelled "Remote", and the company is described as a "Hybrid Workspace". The field roles are very different: the Paris advert says the technician works alone "selon un planning de tournées défini à l'avance" and spends "environ 4 nuits par semaine hors du domicile", and the Lisbon and Porto maintenance adverts ask for "extensive travel during the week and comfortable sleeping away from home frequently".

What is the Powerdot team like?

The careers page says "We value speed, radical ownership, and collective execution. Zero friction, just big challenges and the room to push your boundaries." The adverts add "We're not into titles, egos, or corporate buzzwords. We're into people who make things happen." and "You balance hustle with humanity. You love the buzz of in-person teamwork, but you also know when to recharge". English is the common language: "English Training as English is our language used to connect with all markets and teams". Social life is built in, with "Regular team-building events with your local teammates" and an annual offsite ("last year we went to the Algarve, Portugal!"). Glassdoor's search page lists Powerdot in Portugal at 4.4 stars from 34 reviews, although the work-life-balance sub-rating could not be read. The careers page and adverts do not describe an interview process.

Work-Life Balance

Every advert carries a flexible-hours line in its benefits list. In 13 English adverts it reads "Flexible working hours: you own your time", in three it reads "Flexible working hours so you can manage your time effectively", and the customer support advert says "Flexible working hours and contract options (20h or 40h/week)". The six French-language field-operations adverts say "Horaires de travail flexibles, tu gères ton temps" or "Des horaires flexibles pour mieux concilier vie professionnelle et vie personnelle". That is all 23 live adverts, but the line should be read for the office roles: in the 12 office adverts it appears across product and engineering, partnership development and operations, in Lisbon, Porto, the rest of Portugal and France. No core hours, weekly hours, remote policy or leave days are stated. The adverts also show where flexibility is limited: the customer support role requires being "flexible to work rotating shifts", the real-time technical support role works with field technicians during interventions, and the field technicians follow a predefined tour plan.
