Poll Everywhere is a SaaS audience-response platform that turns presentations, classrooms, conferences, and team meetings into interactive experiences. Co-founded in 2008 by Jeff Vyduna and Brad Gessler, the product lets presenters run real-time polls, Q&As, surveys, word clouds, and feedback collection that audience members respond to from their phones via SMS or web.
It integrates with PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. The platform is used by a large share of Fortune 500 companies and most R1 universities. Poll Everywhere is privately held; it raised a small Series A early on and has run profitably for years.
Where will I work?
Poll Everywhere is fully remote across the United States. The company exited its San Francisco office during the pandemic and has stayed remote since. Team members work from wherever in the US suits them.
What is the Poll Everywhere team like?
A mid-size SaaS team (~50-85 people) covering engineering, product, design, customer success, sales, and support. Values centre on inclusion, curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning. Engineering roles span the full Rails/JavaScript stack, with newer work in real-time/data-platform engineering.
Work-Life Balance
Poll Everywhere runs a 4-day work week — 32 hours over 4 days at full pay. Most of the team takes Fridays off; customer-facing teams stagger their day off (some take Thursday) to maintain coverage across time zones. The program started as a "Summer Fridays" trial in 2022 and was made permanent after the company observed only 10-15% lost productivity against a 20% reduction in hours, plus measurable gains in employee engagement and mental health.
