About Pixieset

What is Pixieset?

Pixieset is "An all-in-one platform for modern photographers, offering client photo galleries, websites, online stores and studio management software tools." Its mission is "to help photographers grow with purpose". It launched in 2013 as a gallery platform, built by founders who, as photographers, "were looking for a simple and beautiful way to share photos with friends and clients", and that gallery grew into Client Gallery. Since then it has added a mobile gallery app (2018), a portfolio website builder (2019), a reimagined online Store for prints and downloads (2020), Studio Manager for contracts, invoices, bookings and client workflows (2021) and, in 2026, a Photo Editor with an AI-assisted edit-to-delivery workflow. The about page says "1 million+ photographers trust Pixieset", with "6 billion+" photos delivered and "$2 billion+ sold via Store and Studio Manager". It describes itself as "a profitable, privately-owned company that focuses on making photography software simpler and better."

Where will I work?

In Vancouver, on a hybrid schedule. Every posting offers a "Hybrid work environment (2 in-office days per week)", and the office is at 1110 Hamilton Street. In October 2026 its Breezy board lists four full-time roles, each with a published salary range: a back end software developer II (CAD $96,900–$132,300), a full stack software developer I (CAD $79,800–$107,100), a senior cloud security engineer (CAD $117,800–$160,650) and a technical product manager (CAD $95,000–$131,250), plus a talent community for speculative applications. The developer roles work mainly in PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript; the security role covers AWS, Cloudflare and Kubernetes.

What is the Pixieset team like?

"The Pixieset team is a small, tight-knit group of talented individuals," the careers page says, describing "a bunch of engineers, artists, photographers, and craftspeople" where "Every team member wears multiple hats to solve tough problems every day." It puts craft first: "Good things take time." Its values include "Be meticulous in your craft", "Communicate with honesty and respect" and "Build a positive and happy environment". The postings describe "a culture built on collaboration, curiosity, and craftsmanship", and Pixieset is certified as a Great Place to Work, ranked among Canada's Best Workplaces and named one of Canada's Top Small & Medium Employers. Staff meet in person "for special events, for dedicated socialization time and fun."

Work-Life Balance

Every posting offers "4 weeks of annual vacation & paid time off for office holiday closures", and the careers page adds: "Every team member gets four weeks of paid time off to take vacations and recharge." With British Columbia's 11 statutory holidays, that is 20 + 11 = 31 days a year before the office holiday closures, whose length is not published. The board describes a culture "valuing dedication, work-life balance, and the power of technology to simplify complex challenges", while the product manager posting asks for someone comfortable in "a fast-moving environment where priorities and context can evolve". Weekly hours are not published.
