About Penguin Random House

Who We Are

Penguin Random House is the world's largest trade book publisher, formed in 2013 by the merger of Penguin and Random House and headquartered at 1745 Broadway in New York City. The company operates more than 300 publishing imprints worldwide and is home to more than 100 editorially and creatively independent publishing imprints in the US alone. Penguin Random House is also the largest book distributor in the United States — its distribution facilities receive, store, pick, pack, and ship, on average, more than 1.8 million books daily to readers around the world.

Where Will I Work?

PRH's US footprint covers offices in New York City and warehousing/distribution facilities across the country. Many publishing and corporate roles operate on a hybrid schedule (e.g. New York–based positions); warehouse and operations roles are primarily on-site. The company also offers paid, remote internships to learn about the world of book publishing.

What is the PRH Team Like?

Penguin Random House strives to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all of its employees, and the wider mission is "to ignite a universal passion for reading by creating books for everyone." The company surfaces employee storytelling through the "My Path to PRH" series, where current Workmates share how they entered publishing. PRH is also committed to responsible book publishing with a global goal of being climate neutral by 2030.

Work-Life Balance

PRH offers a generous PTO policy (pro-rated during the first year with the company) plus 12+ company-paid holidays each year, and uniquely for the publishing industry — a sabbatical every 10 years.
