About O'Shaughnessy Ventures
What is O'Shaughnessy Ventures?
O'Shaughnessy Ventures (OSV) is a Greenwich, Connecticut-based family office and creative investment company led by founder and CEO Jim O'Shaughnessy — the former CEO and founder of O'Shaughnessy Asset Management (sold to Franklin Templeton in 2021) and the New York Times bestselling author of What Works on Wall Street. OSV's public mission statement is direct: "Bet early on bold founders with radical ideas. Publish books that transcend trends. Make films that flip the script. Amplify the best podcasts & newsletters in an age of noise. Unleash talent from around the globe."
The company operates across five connected verticals: ADVENTURES (early-stage investments), BOOKS (Infinite Books, led by Editor-in-Chief Jimmy Soni, author of "The Founders: The Story of PayPal"), FILMS, MEDIA (Infinite Media — led by Michael G.R. aka "Liberty," author of Liberty's Highlights), and FELLOWSHIPS (multiple $100K and $10K grants awarded yearly to independent creators, researchers and builders).
Where will I work?
OSV is registered in Greenwich, Connecticut and operates a globally distributed team. The DB record describes the working arrangement as "100% remotely and… distributed worldwide" — there is no centralised office expectation. The core team and advisory council span the US, UK, Eastern Europe and beyond, with day-to-day work coordinated asynchronously.
What is the O'Shaughnessy Ventures team like?
OSV runs a lean, senior team. The 10-person core team profiled on osv.llc: Jim O'Shaughnessy (Founder & CEO); Jean-Marc Daecius (Chief of Staff — implementing AI for operations across OSV verticals; creator of Imbiblia and author of How Much!); Chris Denny-Brown (Managing Director of Strategic Initiatives); Claudia Shi (CFO); Mykhailo Marynenko (CTO — software & hardware engineer, AI/ML & security researcher, visual artist); Nick Tawil (Managing Director — ex-investment banking, ex-Navy); Jimmy Soni (Editor-in-Chief of Infinite Books); Michael G.R. aka Liberty (Head of Infinite Media); Atman Pandya (Head of Fellowships); and Dylan O'Sullivan (Senior Editor).
The seven-strong Advisory Council adds Shreyas Doshi (ex-Stripe / Twitter / Google / Yahoo / EDS PM leader), Jesse Livermore (pseudonymous trader and writer who worked with Jim at OSAM), Jeremiah Lowin (Founder & CEO of Prefect; advisor to Spotify, FabFitFun and Compass Coffee), Rory Sutherland (Vice Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather, author of "Alchemy"), Dr. David Rhoiney (US Naval Academy graduate, applied mathematician, cryptologist, robotic general surgeon), Anna Gát (Founder of Interintellect) and Benjamin Reinhardt (Founder of Speculative Technologies).
Public outputs include The Infinite Loops podcast (hosted by Jim O'Shaughnessy), the OSVerse Substack newsletter, and an ongoing roster of fellowship-recipient projects across art, technology, science and writing.
Work-Life Balance
The live osv.llc website does not currently publish a /careers page or a working-hours statement. The DB record reflects a longstanding internal practice that "Most of our team works part time and defines their own hours. 4 day week? No problem!" — but this language cannot be re-verified against the current live osv.llc primary sources, so candidates should confirm the working arrangement for any specific role directly with OSV when applying.
Perks and Benefits
OSV does not publish a careers page or a benefits summary on its website. Open opportunities — when they exist — are typically announced via the OSVerse Substack newsletter or the OSV Fellowship at osvfellowship.com. Prospective collaborators can subscribe to The OSVerse for both fellowship updates and any team hiring announcements.
