About MBNL
What is MBNL?
MBNL — Mobile Broadband Network Limited — is the joint venture through which EE (BT Group) and Three UK plan, build and manage their shared mobile-network infrastructure across the United Kingdom. Formed in 2007 as the UK's first network-sharing JV, MBNL looks after tens of thousands of shared sites: the masts, rooftops and towers that carry a large share of the country's mobile traffic. It is a compact, professional organisation — programme managers, network planners, commercial and property specialists, data analysts and delivery leads — sitting at the centre of two of the UK's biggest operators.
Where will I work?
MBNL's office is in central Reading, and the company is explicit about its model in its own adverts: "This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week in our Central Reading office." Roles are office-professional — this is network programme management, not tower climbing (field works are delivered by contractor partners).
What is the MBNL team like?
A small, senior workforce drawn from both shareholder operators and the wider telecoms industry. Best Companies accredited MBNL 1-star "Very Good" in 2025, ranking it #4 Best Telecom Company to Work For in the UK and #58 among UK mid-size companies. Employee reviews on Indeed average 4.3 with work-life balance at 4.2 — a small, older review set with zero overwork mentions.
Work-Life Balance
Hybrid two-days-in-office as standard, a compact professional team, and a verified workplace award: the work-life-balance story here is the JV structure itself — MBNL runs lean and professional, without the always-on culture of consumer-facing telecoms. The 2025 Best Companies accreditation and #4 telecom ranking are independently verified on the awarding body's own site.
