We are a small London-based team passionate about creating fun, interactive experiences that push creative boundaries. We specialize in exploring the intersection between online and offline media, and developing innovative ways for people to interact with technology and each other.

Established in 2021, Kakapo Labs has quickly built a reputation for forming strategic partnerships and developing cutting-edge technology solutions and prototypes. Our experimental approach and agility as a small team allow us to move quickly and try new things. While we've achieved considerable success in our first years, we've focused more on building than broadcasting. Now we're ready to grow and share our work with the world—or at least with well-targeted audiences who will appreciate what we're creating.

We deliberately keep our projects small and focused, which allows us to iterate quickly and maintain the creative freedom to explore novel solutions. Our Unique Work Schedule

At Kakapo Labs, we don't just talk about work-life balance—we've redesigned our entire work week around it. We offer a 24-hour work week (yes, you read that correctly!), with our team working Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Despite the significantly shorter working hours, we pay 100% full-time salaries because we believe in valuing output and creativity over hours logged.

Our Workplace

We all work on-site from our lab in East London (Limehouse), where we've created a collaborative environment that fosters creativity and hands-on experimentation. Being together in person allows us to brainstorm, prototype, and solve problems together in real-time, which is essential for the kind of innovative work we do.
