About Joom

What is Joom?

Joom Group describes itself in its job adverts as "an international tech-centric group of e-commerce companies founded in 2016 in Latvia". Its group site says it operates "a global B2C marketplace with a decade of history, and a B2B trade platform". The consumer business, Joom Marketplace, "connects cross-border merchants and suppliers to millions of customers, with Europe as its core market". The business-to-business side includes JoomPro, an end-to-end cross-border marketplace for importers that operates in Brazil and Mexico; JoomPulse, an analytics tool for sellers on Mercado Livre and Shopee; and Onfy, a pharmaceutical marketplace in Germany. The careers page, read on 6 November 2026, talks of a global team of "500+ across six countries".

Where will I work?

The adverts state that the group has "headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal", and the careers page calls Lisbon "our main tech hub" and lists "Offices in China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and Germany". On 6 November 2026 the public Breezy board held ten vacancies: eight in Lisbon, one in Berlin (Onfy) and one in Sao Paulo (JoomPro). The working model is office-first: the careers page says "We follow an office-first model with a 4/1 schedule" and adds "Everyone gets 52 days to use however they like", while the adverts spell out "a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year", which is roughly one remote day a week. The group also says "Move closer" - it covers agency fees and the first month's rent for people who move closer to the office - and six of the eight Lisbon adverts offer "full assistance for a smooth relocation for the employees and their family".

What is the Joom team like?

The careers page names five values (Move fast, Innovate, Strive for excellence, Together we win, Be open and honest) and promises "Leaders who are hands-on and no pointless hierarchy" and "No bureaucracy". The adverts add "We work as one international team, sharing knowledge and collaborating across countries, businesses and products." The current vacancies are mostly technical and analytical: application security, Go backend development, machine learning, product and marketing analytics, plus a business development role at Onfy and a head of customs and logistics at JoomPro in Brazil. One advert describes "a mature internal A/B testing platform" and "a set of MCP tools and AI agents for analytical tasks", and the Top-tier Software Engineer advert says "Our team is small". Teams are spread across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia and China, with "annual team building activities, knowledge-sharing workshops" listed as part of community life.

Work-Life Balance

Every one of the ten adverts on the Breezy board lists the hours as a benefit under "We offer": "Office-first: flexible hours with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year". The German-language Onfy advert says it in German: "Flexible Arbeitszeiten, bis zu 52 Remote-Tage/Jahr" (English: flexible working hours, up to 52 remote days a year). No core hours are published. Paid leave is stated in some adverts as 22 days of paid annual leave in Portugal, 28 days in Germany and 30 days in Brazil, and the English adverts also list "100% paid sick leave". The careers page says processes are kept simple, with "Clear and easy to follow policies, from vacation requests to performance reviews".
