About Jerba Campervans
What is Jerba Campervans?
Jerba Campervans is a 100% employee-owned campervan conversion company based in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland. Founded in 2006, the company specialises in converting Volkswagen and Ford vehicles into high-quality campervans. Jerba holds approved converter status with both VW and Ford, a mark of quality that only a handful of UK converters have achieved.
The company is accredited by the Good Business Charter and holds 4 Day Week Foundation Gold status, reflecting its commitment to responsible business practices and employee wellbeing. With around 15 employees, Jerba operates as a close-knit, hands-on team focused on craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Where will I work?
Jerba Campervans is based at Unit B, Halfland Barns, North Berwick, East Lothian, EH39 5PW, Scotland. All roles are on-site at the workshop facility, where the team carries out campervan conversions. North Berwick is a coastal town approximately 25 miles east of Edinburgh, offering an attractive work location with easy access to beaches and countryside.
What is the team like?
With approximately 15 employees, Jerba Campervans is a small, employee-owned team. As a 100% employee-owned business, every team member has a genuine stake in the company's success. The team combines skilled tradespeople — joiners, electricians, upholsterers — with administrative and customer-facing roles.
The employee ownership model means decisions are made collectively and everyone benefits directly from the company's performance. This creates a highly motivated, collaborative working environment.
Work-Life Balance
Jerba Campervans operates a genuine 4-day working week, Tuesday to Friday, at 32 hours per week with full pay. The company has achieved 4 Day Week Foundation Gold accreditation, the highest level of recognition for organisations that have successfully adopted a reduced-hours model.
For a manufacturing business, adopting a 4-day week is a particularly impressive achievement. It demonstrates that reduced working hours can be successfully implemented even in hands-on, physical production environments. Mondays off give staff a long weekend every week.
