Who We Are

Groundswell Fund supports U.S. movements for reproductive and social justice by funding intersectional grassroots organizing. As one of the largest funds of its kind in the nation, we are committed to building power and creating lasting change in communities most impacted by systemic injustice.

Centering the leadership of women of color, particularly Black, Indigenous, and transgender individuals, we recognize that those closest to the challenges are best positioned to create solutions. Our approach is rooted in trust-based philanthropy and the belief that sustainable social change comes from investing in community-led movements.

What We Do

Groundswell Fund directs resources into social justice movements through long-term, flexible funding, aiming to enhance the capabilities of grassroots organizations. We move beyond traditional grantmaking by providing multi-year, general operating support that allows our partners to respond to community needs with agility and creativity.

The fund is notable for its commitment to reproductive justice and reducing racial disparities in health outcomes through community-based care approaches. We support organizations working at the intersection of reproductive rights, racial justice, economic justice, and LGBTQ+ liberation, recognizing that these struggles are interconnected.

• Flexible 4-day, 32-hour workweek with full-time pay and benefits

• Three weeks of vacation upon hire with additional time accrued over tenure
