About Global Partners Digital

What is Global Partners Digital?

Founded in 2013, Global Partners Digital (GPD) is a London-based social purpose company working "to ensure that human rights underpin the development, use and governance of digital technologies." Through advocacy, partnerships, capacity building, networks, and research, GPD shapes rights-respecting laws and policies and helps build a more diverse digital policy ecosystem. The organisation is registered as Global Partners Digital Limited (Company No. 10573080; VAT 309 3633 07).

GPD focuses on four issue areas: Trust and security (cyber threats and their human-rights implications), Platform and content governance (online platforms, disinformation, hate speech and policy responses), New and emerging tech (AI, biometric and immersive technologies), and Internet governance (the future of an open, global, interoperable internet under the multistakeholder model).

Where will I work?

The London office is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, Fifth Floor, London W1W 5PF — but GPD is a "pioneer of the four day week at full pay" and a remote-first organisation. Team members are "drawn from a wide range of regions, cultural backgrounds, experiences" and the remote-first model is balanced with deliberate in-person gatherings to celebrate and connect.

What is the GPD team like?

GPD describes itself verbatim as: "a close, collaborative and friendly team, and we make time to meet and celebrate in person." Named team members on /about/ include Lea Kaspar (Executive Director), Rebecca Zausmer (Chief Operating Officer), Maria Paz Canales (Head of Policy and Advocacy), Donja Ghobadi (Head of Project Management), Helen Turek (Programme Lead, Freedom Online Coalition Support Unit), Ellie McDonald and Rose Payne (Leads, Policy and Advocacy), Klara Marland and Nuša Tomic (FOC Support Unit), Kara Dalton (Manager, Operations and HR), Zora Gouhary (Project Manager, FOC Support Unit) and Hannah Brice (Project Officer). Advisers include Daniela Schnidrig, Jacqueline Rowe, Ian Barber, Sheetal Kumar and Andrew Puddephatt.

The organisation works with civil society, governments and international bodies; it currently houses the Support Unit for the Freedom Online Coalition, and is a coordinator of the IGF Policy Network on Internet Fragmentation, the Global Network Initiative and the Global Encryption Coalition. GPD has supported "more than 50 civil society organisations in over 30 Global South countries."

Work-Life Balance

GPD is — in its own words — "a pioneer of the four day week at full pay." The organisation is remote-first by design, with deliberate in-person meet-ups to maintain connection. Flexibility and team wellbeing are framed as "a central focus."
