What is Forward Together?
Forward Together is a national reproductive justice organization. From the about page: "Forward Together is a national reproductive justice organization that centers peoples, families, and communities who experience reproductive oppression. We prioritize queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and other peoples of color. We utilize a cultural strategy to shift the ways we think about family and to build power and movements, grounded in our lived experiences, histories, theories and struggles for reproductive justice."
The organization's approach is cultural-strategy-led: "Forward Together has always harnessed the power of culture to build courage, create connections, and make change—from our work on family definition with Family Values @ Work and the Family Justice Network to our Mamas Day and TDOR projects from our critical media and education interventions to our groundbreaking thought leadership."

Where will I work?
Forward Together is headquartered in Oakland, CA with additional offices in California, New Mexico, and Oregon. From an active senior-leadership JD: "Location: Remote, anywhere within the United States (outside the United States will be considered if feasible for the organization)." The team works fully remotely across U.S. time zones with flexible start and end times.
What is the Forward Together team like?
Around 30 people work across the organization. The team explicitly centers marginalized identities: "We prioritize leadership of trans and gender nonconforming folks, indigenous women, women of color, and specifically black women, and we strongly encourage people of all marginalized identities to apply." Forward Together's art and cultural strategy work is anchored by an Artist-in-Residence model — featured artists have included Micah Bazant.
Senior-leadership roles report into a Co-Executive Director model and supervise teams such as the Cultural Strategy department (which houses the Narrative Strategist, Cultural Strategist, and visiting artist collaborations).
Work-Life Balance
From the Cultural Strategy Director JD (April 2024 — archived): "Office Hours: Monday – Thursday, 32 hours a week. Start and end times are flexible, but must be able to attend predetermined team and staff meetings." Forward Together's 4-day workweek is structurally embedded: every advertised role operates the Mon–Thu schedule.
The organization operates a published salary equity structure. From the same JD: "Salary: $118,000 – $123,287 annually. The salary range is determined by Forward Together's salary equity structure. Offers will only be made within this range." There is no negotiation.
Paid time off includes sick days, vacation, and holidays, plus a two-week organisational shutdown each December: "In addition, we close our offices for two weeks in December."
