About E.ON UK
What is E.ON UK?
E.ON UK is the British arm of the international energy company E.ON, supplying energy and low-carbon solutions to homes, businesses and communities. It describes itself as "leading the energy transition by bringing smart, sustainable, and specialised solutions to homes, businesses, and whole communities" and as "one of the UK's largest energy network and infrastructure operators." The UK group spans the E.ON Next retail brand, npower Business Solutions for larger business customers, and UK Solutions - the infrastructure arm that is "home to 3,800+ talented colleagues," covering heat networks, street lighting, commercial solar, battery storage and heat pumps.
Where will I work?
Most roles are hybrid. E.ON says: "As we have a hybrid approach the location depends on the role and area, but we have offices across the UK including; Coventry, Nottingham, Bolton, Leicester, Kingswinford and London to name a few." On the balance itself: "Typically, this could mean no more than 1-2 days per week in the office, but this depends on the specific role." Recent vacancies have been based at Trinity House in Nottingham and at Solihull, both advertised with hybrid working.
What is the E.ON UK team like?
Teams cover customer operations, engineering and field services, IT and digital, commercial, HR, finance, regulatory affairs, and marketing and communications. E.ON frames the work around purpose - "If you've a passion for customers and want to be part of creating a sustainable energy future, E.ON is the place for you" - and puts real weight on difference: "We celebrate the diversity of our people and create a sense of belonging for everyone. That's why we challenge stereotypes and offer flexible working in every role."
Work-Life Balance
E.ON publishes its flexible working principles openly: "Flexible working from day 1, with all roles being open to some degree of flexibility for all colleagues"; "We trust our colleagues to work flexibly and to choose the most appropriate environment/arrangement to maximise performance"; guaranteed time off for "Moments that Matter" such as moving house or getting married; and job sharing "supported and actively encouraged with shared jobs happening across our middle management and leadership teams." Vacancies state "We're open to discussing how flexibility can work for you," and list 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with an extra two weeks of holiday available to buy from day one. Family policies are unusually specific: 18 weeks paid maternity leave, 18 weeks paid equal parent leave, 12 weeks paid neo-natal leave, paid fertility leave for both parents, and two weeks paid leave for pregnancy loss.
