About Energiesprong UK
What is Energiesprong UK?
Energiesprong UK is an independent retrofit consultancy headquartered at the Staffordshire Technology Park in Stafford. The mission, stated on the live site, is to make "every UK home comfortable, affordable, desirable and fit for 2050." The organisation works across the whole retrofit ecosystem — with local authorities, social landlords, construction partners, the supply chain, and policymakers — to turn ambition into real-world performance for net-zero home refurbishment.
Inspired by the Dutch Energiesprong model, the UK arm has spent years testing retrofit approaches, contracting models, and technical solutions alongside European sister organisations. The work spans strategy to delivery: market-analysis-driven decarbonisation strategies, bulletproof business cases, data-led archetyping + procurement advice + resident engagement guidance, performance monitoring, and culture-change advocacy across the industry.
Recent flagship project: Transform-ER, a bold new delivery model that "radically rethinks the retrofit industry." Industry partners include Tata Steel (interoperability + interfacing for scaling retrofit). Funding comes through Innovate UK, EU Interreg NWE (MUSTBE0), and consortium-led project budgets. Energiesprong UK Ltd is registered as Company No 9649603.
Where will I work?
Energiesprong UK is based at First Floor, 7 Marconi Gate, Staffordshire Technology Park, Stafford ST18 0FZ. Most staff work home-based, with travel to partner premises across the UK and occasional UK/EU travel (primarily Netherlands, France, Germany — countries with sister Energiesprong organisations). The Stafford office is available for in-person work for those who prefer it.
What is the Energiesprong UK team like?
The team is described on the live site as "willing to tackle the problems others aren't" — collaborative critical-friends to local authorities and housing providers. Roles span from strategists and policy advocates to delivery managers, resident engagement specialists, and procurement experts. Many positions are offered as 2-4 days/week consulting engagements tied to specific project funding cycles, with some longer-term fixed-term contracts.
The studio is committed to iterative learning as a discipline: the December 2025 blog post stated outright, "We want to make iterative learning the industry standard." Job postings consistently emphasise willingness to learn alongside policy + retrofit subject-matter expertise.
Work-Life Balance
Energiesprong UK's own job postings verbatim state that the organisation "operates on a 32-hour, Monday to Friday timeframe" for full-time staff — a reduced-hours week spread across all five weekdays, distributed at approximately 6.4 hours per day rather than concentrated into four full days. Many roles are offered explicitly as 2-4 days per week part-time, suited to professionals balancing other commitments. This is a deliberate operating model designed for sustainable engagement on a complex, long-horizon retrofit-policy mission.
Note: the existing 4dayweek.io directory record lists Energiesprong UK as a Friday-off 4-day week, but the verbatim policy statement on Energiesprong UK's own job postings describes a 32-hour Mon-Fri arrangement instead.
