About ecosio
What is ecosio?
ecosio is a B2B integration company based in Vienna, specialising in electronic data interchange (EDI) and e-invoicing. It provides automated communication across entire supply chains and says it has clients across a wide range of industries, from brewers to cable car manufacturers. Its adverts describe a service company that builds integrations on its own cloud platform: the Integration Engineer role, for example, covers "planning, coordinating and technically implementing e-invoicing and EDI projects on our cloud platform". Since the end of August 2024 ecosio has been part of Vertex, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed (VERX) provider of indirect tax solutions, which announced that it had completed the acquisition as of August 30, 2024.
Where will I work?
The adverts describe a remote-first set-up: "Our remote-first culture lets you work remotely from one of our designated countries". Three of the five live roles are listed as remote across Austria, Germany, the UK, Italy, Hungary, Portugal and Croatia, with France, Spain and Poland added on some; the other two list city locations including Vienna, Paris, München, Budapest, Milano, Lisbon, València and London. The company is headquartered in Vienna (the Built In profile lists the HQ as Vienna, and the karriere.at profile gives the 1100 district). Four of the five roles name German as a language requirement (the Solutions Engineer role accepts German or Spanish at a native / C2 level), with fluent English expected throughout, so read the language line in each advert before applying.
What is the ecosio team like?
ecosio describes its team in these words: "Our team is characterised by our professional and friendly team spirit, which transcends internal hierarchies." It adds that it loves technology and sets high standards for it. The adverts say "we hire individuals from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive work environment". The five roles open today cover outbound sales development, customer success, account management, pre-sales solutions engineering and e-invoicing and EDI integration engineering, so the team mixes customer-facing and technical people. The Integration Engineer advert asks for several years of work experience in e-invoicing and/or EDI, and the sales and customer-facing adverts ask for a native / C2 level of German, so most roles expect prior experience and strong language skills.
Work-Life Balance
All five live adverts list the same line among the things you will experience at ecosio: "Flexible working hours to suit your schedule and priorities". It appears in sales development, customer success, account management, solutions engineering and integration engineering adverts, so it reads as a company-wide benefit rather than one team's perk. The adverts do not state core hours, a weekly-hours figure or a holiday allowance, so ask at interview how the flexibility works in your team. It sits alongside the remote-first culture and "Workations of up to 90 days per year within the EU, combining travel and productivity", plus "Wellbeing support, including mental health resources and employee assistance programs". The Austrian job portal karriere.at carries the same benefit on ecosio's company profile, listed there as flexible working hours (Flexible Arbeitszeiten).
