DJS Research describes itself as "a successful employee-owned market research company". It is a full-service agency, and its Our culture page lists researchers and data analysts, software developers, telephone interviewers, online panel creators and designers among its roles. Its clients include "the National Trust, United Utilities, the NHS, the Electoral Commission, Sport England and The Open University". Its work covers sectors from charity and not-for-profit to central and local government, public health and transport, using methods that range from online communities and focus groups to telephone and face-to-face interviewing.
How is it owned?
Its Our culture page says "our employee ownership status empowers everyone at DJS Research to play an active role in creating an organisation they are proud to be part of", and that the move "protects our unique legacy as an independent, family-owned business". Staff are called Partners. Its job adverts mention "a tax-free bonus scheme after 12 months", and the company marks an employee-ownership anniversary on 1 July. It is also B Corp certified.
Where will I work?
Its join-us page says "With a mix of office-based, hybrid and remote workers at DJS Research, both here in the UK and further afield", it places "the utmost importance on the connectivity of our people", "regardless of their location". Its head office is at 3 Pavilion Lane, Strines, Stockport, Cheshire, "nestled in leafy Strines on the border of the Peak District", and it has an office in the centre of Leeds. Its benefits list "The freedom to work from home" and "Hybrid working actively encouraged", and its culture page says "Hybrid working means spontaneous after-work get-togethers are a little trickier than they once were", which is why its social committee organises events.
What is the DJS Research team like?
Its join-us page says "The wellbeing of our people, which is shaped by mutual respect, a collaborative team-spirit and shared values" is "the true measure of our success". It describes a "people-lead culture" and says "we encourage both upward and horizontal movements across our organisation". Staff run an employee council called EO Voice, an annual in-house engagement survey called MyDJS, a social committee, Wednesday Wellness Walks and an annual "Bring Your Dog to Work day".
Work-Life Balance
Its join-us page lists "33 days leave (including bank holidays)", "+3 days holiday for Christmas closure" and "A day off for your birthday!", which is 37 days a year, with "Ability to purchase up to five days additional annual leave each year" and "Annual leave increases after 3 years' service". Its culture page gives the same allowance as 25 days of annual leave plus three days for the Christmas shutdown, and says that if your birthday falls at the weekend you can take a day of annual leave the week before or after. It also lists "Flexible hours between 8am-6pm", "Early finish Fridays" and "A paid volunteering day each year", and says everyone is encouraged to take a volunteer day with full pay.
