About comundo
What is comundo?
comundo is a Copenhagen-based climate-tech startup making carbon accounting simple for building owners. The company's mission, per its about page, is "to be the world's biggest contributor to a net-zero planet" by providing building owners with the accurate energy data they need to achieve their sustainability goals. The product automates the granular energy and emission data buildings need, removing manual work that has historically slowed sustainability reporting.
The company is partnered with Danske Bank and serves building owners across Denmark and beyond.
Where will I work?
comundo is headquartered at Farvergade 17, 1. sal, 1463 Copenhagen, Denmark. The team is based across Copenhagen and Vilnius (Lithuania) and "typically work in the office, but we also offer remote working opportunities," per the company's career page. Company language is English ("our company language is English, so good English skills are essential!").
What is the comundo team like?
comundo describes itself as "founded people-first" — the founders' premise was that to build a successful company they had to build a healthy team first. The culture rests on three named values: Community ("a place where we support each other, celebrate our wins and never judge"), Doing good ("by working together with respect, integrity and kindness"), and Mastery ("smarter, not harder. It's knowing yourself, being in charge of your time"). Lara Mulady leads brand and marketing with 15+ years of experience in B2B startups and scaleups. Amalie, a Project Manager, writes that comundo "gets me excited to go to work — both for the challenges and rewards of working in a green industry but also the approach to work that is being cultivated here."
Diversity statement: "we are a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace and welcome anyone and everyone to our team, regardless of backgrounds, beliefs, or identities." Applicants are encouraged to share preferred pronouns and any interview adjustments needed.
Work-Life Balance
In June 2023, comundo moved its first group of employees to a four-day work week (32 hours, Fridays off) with full pay. The transition followed a May 2023 workshop with Pernille Garde Abildgaard, "the Nordic's leading authority on the four-day working week." New hires complete three months of full-time work to onboard before transitioning to the four-day schedule.
To make the four-day model work, comundo reduced unnecessary meetings, adopted productivity techniques like Pomodoro, and set fixed slots for emails and async communication. The team rotates the off day where operations require it, with Friday as the default.
