About Blackthorn
What is Blackthorn?
Blackthorn is a Salesforce-native ISV building a powerful event management platform that transforms Salesforce CRM into a complete events, payments, messaging, and compliance solution. The product runs entirely inside Salesforce — no separate logins, no flimsy integrations — so customers can plan events, process payments, send messages, and stay compliant "without leaving their CRM."
Blackthorn's product suite spans an Events Platform plus add-ons for Payments, Messaging, Compliance, Smart Capture, Navigator, and Badges. The product is "known for going live in hours, not weeks." Customers range from tiny nonprofits to global corporations, with focused industry verticals in Healthcare, Higher Education, and Nonprofit.
Where will I work?
Blackthorn is a fully remote, global team — "we are a fully remote, global team working from home" — though hiring is currently restricted to 24 US states (AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, WA, and WI) for new applicants. The company headquarters is registered in New York City.
What is the Blackthorn team like?
Blackthorn operates with a startup velocity ("we run like a startup!") and a tightly-knit team that values ownership and pace. The company is anchored in eight values: Aim higher, Be real ("we operate with integrity—and do NOT believe in office politics"), Be respectful, Be transparent, Build relationships, Show support, Strive for work-life balance, and Treat others equally.
Philanthropy is operational, not symbolic: Blackthorn contributes monthly to Watsi (an adopted nonprofit funding life-saving healthcare globally) and is active in the Stripe Climate Project for atmospheric CO₂ removal. JDs frame the role expectation directly: "this is not for you if you want to sit back and chill", balanced with "meaningful work and meaningful relationships" (a Ray Dalio reference).
Work-Life Balance
Blackthorn explicitly protects Quiet Fridays as focus time, runs a flexible work week, and offers paid holidays plus an unlimited vacation policy. The "Strive for work-life balance" value reads: "the best way to thrive at work is to ensure every team member has the time and space to enjoy life outside of it." Pledge 1% participation gives team members paid time off during the year for helping nonprofits.
