About Bedrock Learning
What is Bedrock Learning?
Bedrock Learning is a UK literacy and education platform founded around a decade ago by two English teachers. The platform joins the dots between reading, writing, subject knowledge and pedagogy, so that students can tackle the curriculum with confidence. The company's mission, in its own words: "learning without barriers creates futures without limits. We call it liberating learning."
Bedrock is an award-winning literacy platform trusted by 1,000+ schools and Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs). The adaptive platform drives measurable improvements in core language skills, exam results, and life chances for students while giving teachers more time to focus on delivering inspiring, insight-driven lessons.
Where will I work?
Bedrock Learning is headquartered in Norwich City centre with a second UK office in Cambridge. The Norwich office has a fantastic social area and runs free weekly yoga classes. The company operates a hybrid working policy: some team members work from the Norwich or Cambridge offices, while others work 100% remotely from within the UK.
What is the Bedrock team like?
The team spans curriculum developers (drawn from teaching and writing backgrounds), marketing (organising inspirational CPD for the education community), account management, and technology. Six core values shape the culture: User Impact (obsessed with genuine benefit for users), Collaboration (one team pulling together for shared success), Inquisitive (always asking questions and challenging the status quo), Iteration (always seeking improvement), Efficiency (getting straight to the point and maximising results for partner schools), and Conscientious (doing the job well and thoroughly). The Transforming Education Alliance, hosted by Bedrock, gives the wider education community access to insights, advice, and opportunities.
Work-Life Balance
Bedrock is creating a productive working environment over a 4-day work week so that the team can afford to spend more time living their lives. The benefits package includes 33+ days of annual holiday plus office closure between Christmas and New Year. Hybrid working is part of the standard arrangement, supported by an Employee Assistance Programme covering mental health, wellbeing, financial and legal needs.
