What is Atlas Insurance?
Atlas Insurance PCC Limited is a Malta-based insurer. Its group history page says "The Atlas Group has its roots very firmly set in the Maltese shipping industry of the 1920s." and that "Atlas became a local insurance company, as opposed to an agency for an overseas insurer, with Malta’s accession to the EU on 1 May 2004", and its licence page says "Atlas Insurance PCC Limited (C 5601) is a cell company authorised under the Insurance Business Act 1998 (Chapter 403 of the Laws of Malta) to carry on general insurance business and long-term reinsurance business and is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority." On 6 November 2026 the group's page "Atlas Today" reported "Over 275 staff members", "12 branches and 39 tied intermediaries" and "Over 129,000 customers, as at end of 2025", and said "The flagship company of the Atlas Group is Atlas Insurance PCC Limited, operating an extensive branch and intermediary network throughout Malta and Gozo." Its roles span claims, commercial insurance, health, life and pensions, risk and compliance and human resources.
Where will I work?
All nine adverts on 6 November 2026 are in Ta' Xbiex, Malta, where the head office is listed at "Atlas Insurance PCC Limited – 419, Ta’ Xbiex Seafront, Ta’ Xbiex" and the health insurance agency at "Atlas Healthcare Insurance Agency Limited – 50, Abate Rigord Street Ta’ Xbiex". The careers page promises a "Great office environment including hybrid and flexible working hours", and seven of the eight office-based adverts list "hybrid work" among the benefits; the number of office days is not stated. The Locations page notes that on the last Saturday of every month the head office is open from 8:15AM till 12:30PM and branches from 8:30AM till 13:00PM; who staffs those hours is not stated.
What is the Atlas Insurance team like?
The careers page lists "Young, dynamic teams" and says "Over 90% of our staff members feel proud to work at Atlas." It describes a learning culture: "We invest in our peoples’ learning through customised skills training, coaching, or sponsored professional qualifications courses." It adds that "Our staff members, many of whom are Fellows and Associates of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London or business graduates" are encouraged to keep studying. A Team Atlas Internship Programme testimonial on the page says "Atlas encourages a healthy balance between work, studies, and personal life", and the board includes an insurance internship alongside associate-level roles in claims, commercial insurance, underwriting and client services, a risk and compliance associate and a learning and development executive. Eight of the nine adverts close on 30 November 2026 and refer applicants to the Recruitment Privacy Policy.
Work-Life Balance
The careers page states company-wide: "Great office environment including hybrid and flexible working hours" and separately lists "Reduced summer hours". Seven of the eight office-based adverts say "We offer reduced summer hours", for example "We offer reduced summer hours, sponsorships for professional qualifications and training, health insurance, staff discounts, and hybrid work amongst others." No page says which days or how many hours the summer reduction covers, or whether it shortens Fridays, so it is not treated as summer Fridays; the flexible working hours statement on the careers page is what sets the schedule type. The careers list also names birthday leave, volunteering leave, sports national representation leave, a holistic wellness allowance and an employee assistance programme with after-work exercise classes. Annual leave day counts are not stated, and no Glassdoor or Indeed page could be found for the Maltese company, so no independent work-life rating is recorded.
