About Aikido Security

What is Aikido Security?

Aikido Security is a developer-first security company. Its homepage title reads "Secure everything your devs build, ship & run." and its About page says "All the security tools we used were slow, confusing, overpriced and noisy. So we built better ones." The company describes "category-leading security products across code, cloud, runtime, and autonomous penetration testing". The About page gives 2022 as the year founded, "$85M" of funding raised and "350+" employees, and The Next Web reported on 14 January 2026 that Aikido had "closed a $60 million Series B funding round at a $1 billion valuation".

Where will I work?

The careers page says Aikido has "a home base in Belgium and regular company offsites to bring everyone together". The About page lists a European HQ in Ghent, a US HQ in San Francisco, a US office in Chicago, a UK office in London, an APAC HQ in Singapore and a defense HQ in Boston. Location rules differ by advert: one engineering role asks for "Able to work from our office in Ghent at least 3 days per week", another says "Candidates must be able to work from our offices in Ghent, Warsaw or Chicago", many sales roles are listed as remote jobs, and one account executive advert mentions a "hybrid culture". Check the advert for the arrangement on a specific role.

What is the Aikido Security team like?

The careers page lists five values: "Humble & Curious", "Transparent & Open", "Disagree, then commit", "Ownership" and "Keep it simple, silly". The adverts promise "Short decision lines. Big ownership." and describe "High trust, strong values, zero corporate BS" and "an open and informal atmosphere". On the day of research the live board held 75 adverts, 51 of them in Sales and the rest in Product & Development, Marketing, Finance & Operations and People. The hiring process on the careers page has four steps: an informal conversation, a deeper conversation on skills and fit with "culture & vision", a "challenge or assessment where you get the chance to work alongside your potential teammates", and a final conversation "with questions on both sides".

Work-Life Balance

"Flexible working hours." is listed under Benefits on the careers page, and every one of the 75 live adverts repeats it in the "What you can expect" list: 74 say "Flexibility in working hours" and one says "Flexible working hours and an open, informal culture". The wording appears in adverts for Sales, Product & Development, Marketing, Finance & Operations and People roles, in Ghent, the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Singapore and remote roles alike. No core hours or start and finish times are stated, and the pages we read do not say how many days of annual leave staff receive.

Perks and Benefits

  • Flexible working hours (listed under Benefits on the careers page)
  • "Competitive salary" (careers page) and "Top-tier tech pay and equity" (adverts)
