About AIHR
What is AIHR?
AIHR, the Academy to Innovate HR, is an online learning academy for HR professionals, headquartered in Rotterdam. On its careers page the company says its mission is "to make human resources (HR) future-proof by offering world-class, online education programs available anywhere, anytime", and that it has a "global (65+ countries) customer base, consisting of companies like Unilever, Goldman Sachs, Philips, EY, and UBS". The about page names Nando Steenhuis and Erik van Vulpen as the founders. AIHR's Recruitee careers site describes a growing team of over 100 professionals, and its eight live roles today span marketing, product design, sales, partnerships, customer success, sales operations and analytics engineering.
Where will I work?
The Rotterdam headquarters is on the 20th floor of the Millennium Tower next to Central Station, and a second office in Amsterdam, near Rembrandtplein, opened in December 2023. Work is hybrid: the How We Work page says "We therefore advise a two-day office (preferably one day in the HQ) and a three-day work-from-home policy", and individual adverts set the minimum, for example at least 2 days a week in the Rotterdam office for the Senior Product Designer and at least 3 days a week for the two Partnership Manager roles. Team members can also work abroad: "we give everyone the option to work abroad for up to four weeks (20 days) per calendar year".
What is the AIHR team like?
AIHR lists five values on its careers site: Ownership, Excellence, Data-Driven, Trust and Hunger to Grow. The careers page adds "Our team is very international, yet we all share a few traits": customer-focused, results-driven and very hands-on. Culture is built around shared rituals: a monthly Cake Friday, informal end-of-week drinks, summer and winter parties, a quarterly wrap-up party and team days several times a year. Growth is formalised through a skills and career-levelling framework with growth talks six months after your first day and every six months after that, and every employee starts with a €1,000 learning budget. The adverts ask for experience, for example at least 5 years as a product designer in B2B SaaS, so most open roles are for experienced hires.
Work-Life Balance
The hours policy is stated on AIHR's own How We Work page under the heading "Flexible working hours & working from home arrangements": hybrid working with "the flexibility to plan for your eight-hour day in a schedule that suits you and your team". The same page tells teams to "Collaborate on and set work schedule expectations with your manager". Five of the eight live adverts repeat the line "Flexible working hours & working from home arrangements" or "Flexible working hours and work-from-home arrangements after onboarding", across product design, sales, customer success and business operations roles. No core hours are stated. On time off, "Everyone at AIHR is entitled to 26 vacation days per calendar year (based on full-time employment)", made up of the 20-day Dutch statutory minimum plus 6 extra days, with one more day for each of your first five anniversaries, the option to buy up to ten more, and the right to swap two public holidays. The company also offers dedicated Trust Days for moments when work or life becomes too stressful, and free access to the OpenUp mental health platform.
