The Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor – Piano, to begin Fall 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will be an accomplished artist who is dedicated to teaching applied piano and related courses. We seek an individual whose work exhibits vitality, ingenuity, and leadership.

A terminal degree (Doctorate or ABD) is required. The chosen candidate will be expected to serve on various university, college, and school committees, establish ongoing professional activity as a performer and participate actively in student recruitment, as well as other related duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Music.

The school is particularly interested in candidates who have communication abilities and cross-cultural competencies to maximize their effectiveness with many different groups of students, colleagues, and community members.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
