The Toronto office of Smith + Andersen is currently seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to help attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent who will support our continued growth across Canada. What You'll Do
- Champion talent acquisition excellence by enhancing employer branding, identifying process inefficiencies, and implementing innovative practices that improve recruitment outcomes.
- Collaborate with hiring managers in assigned client groups to understand current and future talent needs, develop recruitment strategies, and lead full-cycle recruitment from sourcing through offer acceptance.
- Assess applications, lead phone screenings, and identify top talent by evaluating candidates against role requirements and team needs.
- Lead and continuously enhance the organization’s national early career program, including internships, co-ops, and new graduate initiatives, by developing and executing annual campus recruiting plans, success metrics, and university partnership strategies.
- Deliver a seamless, candidate-centered interview experience by coordinating schedules, maintaining engagement throughout the process, gathering timely feedback, and supporting a smooth offer process.
- Drive talent acquisition performance through recruitment analytics by monitoring key performance indicators, including time to fill, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance rate.
- Lead recruitment-based projects, providing expertise to advance the talent acquisition function.
- Champion applicant tracking system optimization to improve efficiency, data integrity, and the overall recruitment experience for hiring managers and candidates.
- Champion the ongoing enhancement of talent acquisition processes, policies, tools, and systems. Identify opportunities for improvement from sourcing to onboarding and develop project plans to implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with provincial employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain and update the job description library to reflect evolving roles and responsibilities.
Who You Are
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a CHRP, CHRL, or similar professional designation is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leading full-cycle recruitment for specialized, technical, or professional roles preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and project management skills to manage difficult-to-fill searches and multiple competing priorities
- Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders and hiring managers, providing guidance and recruitment strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent the organization professionally.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience using recruitment metrics and best practices to drive talent acquisition process improvements.
- Advanced experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment technologies, with the ability to optimize workflows, maintain data integrity, and support process improvement initiatives.
