About the role
Whatever our customers plan to do in Data & AI on AWS, we design and build it together with them, from the first architecture workshop all the way to production. That’s why we are looking for you: as a Senior Solutions Architect for Data & AI, you are responsible for end-to-end projects in your area and actively help shape our growing Data & AI Business Unit.
Architecture & Delivery
- You lead the development and implementation of scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and Gen AI / Agentic AI solutions
- You ensure security, performance, reliability and cost efficiency for our customers (AWS Well-Architected)
- You make architecture decisions including trade-offs – and document them so that teams can build on them
- You translate vague business pain points into measurable technical requirements and clear goals
- You bring an outside perspective and raise our existing standards to the next level.
- You take part in technical pre-sales, project scoping and work on creating the Statements of Work
Data & AI
- You develop Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions on AWS Bedrock, with frameworks such as Strands Agents and runtime / governance building blocks such as Bedrock AgentCore
- You develop agent architectures with tool use and MCP-based integrations, multi-step orchestration and clearly defined boundaries of the agent scope
- You build in human-in-the-loop patterns, from approval steps and escalation logic to (partially) automated review loops
- You establish evaluation and quality assurance for LLM and agent systems
- You show customers how to use GenAI and Agentic AI pragmatically and responsibly
Consulting & Pre-Sales
- You are a Trusted Technical Advisor for our customers
- You support pre-sales and technical workshops
- You translate complex technology into clear business value
- Knowledge sharing
- You are a mentor for our junior colleagues
- You contribute to internal standards, best practices and trainings and develop them further with us
Your profile:
Must-haves
- 5+ years in cloud, data, software or ML engineering – including 2+ years with ownership of end-to-end architectures
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS
- Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architectures
- Experience with Generative / Agentic AI projects
- Very good Python skills
- Fluent (negotiation-level) English; German at a professional level
Nice-to-haves
- AWS certifications
- Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership
- Experience in consulting or customer-facing projects
- Experience with AWS Connect
- Solid experience with IaC (Terraform or comparable)
- Experience with LLM customization / fine-tuning and distillation
- Practical MLOps experience (model deployment, monitoring, lifecycle)
- Experience with Kafka/streaming
