Senior Human Resources Generalist

Location: Salisbury, MD

Salary Range: $70,000 –$95,000 annually

Schedule: Four‑day, 36-hour work week — Monday through Thursday

Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, HR compliance, employee records management, and HRIS administration. This position serves as a resource to employees and leaders regarding HR processes and ensures HR programs are administered efficiently and in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of human resources experience
  • Experience with recruitment, benefits administration, and leave management required
  • Experience working with an HRIS/HRMS system required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred

Essential Duties

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including postings, screening, interview coordination, background checks, reference checks, and onboarding

  • Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations

  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and related offerings

  • Provide employee education regarding available benefits and enrollment processes

  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives designed to improve morale, retention, and workplace culture

  • Develop recognition programs that celebrate employee achievements and milestones

  • Create and publish a quarterly employee newsletter highlighting organizational updates, employee accomplishments, safety initiatives, and departmental successes

  • Develop communication campaigns that strengthen employee engagement and awareness of organizational goals

  • Develop innovative gamification strategies to increase employee participation, teamwork, wellness, safety, and workplace positivity

  • Coordinate new hire orientation and employee onboarding processes

  • Manage employee leave processes, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation

  • Process employee status changes, separations, and related personnel actions

  • Assist with audits, credentialing, and compliance activities

  • Provide general HR support to employees and leadership

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the VP of Human Resources who provides supervision and schedule.
