About the Job
As the Public Affairs Manager COPAC for Vaccines, you will work in a team that promotes environments favorable to innovation so that science can transform people's lives. To achieve this purpose, you will lead and execute public affairs strategies focused on vaccines in Sanofi's COPAC region (Central America —excluding Mexico—, Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador), driving the modernization of National Immunization Programs (NIP), the introduction of new vaccines (FLU, IPV, hexavalent, RSV), and the expansion of immunization coverage. This role requires both strategic design and direct execution: from building multi-year roadmaps to personally conducting meetings with key stakeholders, policy negotiations, and advocacy campaigns. You will work with a broad ecosystem of actors that includes health authorities, ministries, multilateral organizations (PAHO/WHO), NITAGs, pediatric societies, civil society organizations, and the media. Key Responsibilities:
• Vaccine Policy Strategy: Design and execute public affairs strategies focused on vaccines; develop a multi-year roadmap; lead the modernization of the national immunization plan in COPAC countries; drive the introduction of new vaccines (FLU, IPV, hexavalent, RSV).
• Strategic Engagement: Build relationships with health authorities, social security institutions, PAHO/WHO, multilateral organizations, NITAGs, pediatric societies, civil society organizations, media, and immunization opinion leaders.
• Policy and Advocacy: Develop evidence-based advocacy campaigns with measurable changes in vaccine policy; navigate complex regulatory and political environments; lead HTA/HTA processes for vaccines; develop access frameworks and immunization legislation.
• Coalitions and Synergies: Lead multi-stakeholder coalitions, public-private partnerships, and drive synergies between prevention and treatment portfolios to position Sanofi as a strategic partner in health innovation.
• Advocacy and Crisis Management: Develop evidence-based advocacy projects with measurable changes and manage crises with rapid response protocols and ethical standards.
About You
Experience:
Progressive experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy development in the vaccine, biotechnology, or health sector. The ideal profile includes:
• Proven track record in government relations and advocacy in vaccine/immunization policy in the region; experience in COPAC countries highly valued.
• Engagement with health authorities, ministries, social security institutions, and multilateral organizations (PAHO/WHO, IDB, World Bank) in the context of vaccine access.
• Success in designing and implementing public affairs strategies with measurable results in vaccine policy and market access.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory and political environments in multiple countries simultaneously.
• Track record of building and managing multi-stakeholder coalitions.
• Experience in both the public and private sectors is a relevant differentiator.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical market access is desirable.
- Soft and technical skills:
• Vaccine Policy Knowledge: deep understanding of immunization plans, vaccine introduction mechanisms, stakeholder ecosystems, and regional immunization strategies in the region.
• Stakeholder Management: building exceptional relationships with government officials, ministries of health, payers, patient organizations, and medical societies relevant to vaccine access.
• Policy Advocacy: demonstrated ability to design and execute advocacy campaigns with measurable changes in vaccine policy.
• Strategic Thinking: identifying policy trends, translating them into actionable plans, and aligning the public affairs strategy with business objectives.
Education:
Undergraduate degree required, with a Master's in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Political Science, or an MBA with a focus on health (Preferred).
• Preferred: Additional certifications in Immunization Policy, Market Access, or Government Affairs.
• Languages: Spanish and English (business fluency required); Portuguese or other COPAC languages are a plus.
