About the role
MongoDB is looking for a driven, results-oriented partner sales professional with the passion and initiative to grow our business through strategic partnerships. The Principal Partner Specialist will establish and execute high-impact partner strategies in the Korean market, building and developing robust relationships that generate new business opportunities.
This role focuses on working closely with key partners and sales teams to accelerate deals, expand partner capabilities, and strengthen MongoDB's position in a rapidly growing market.
In line with our hybrid work policy, we are looking for someone who can commute to our Seoul office in South Korea. (ASEM Tower, 517 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul)
What you will be doing
- Develop and execute strategies for CSPs (Cloud Service Providers) such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft, as well as AI partners that influence database selection for customers in the Korean market (e.g., Megazone, Bespin, etc.)
- Identify and nurture effective partner relationships that create growth opportunities and mutual benefits
- Prospect, identify, qualify, and develop sales pipelines through CSPs, AI foundation model providers, and ISV partners
- Collaborate with the enterprise sales team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
- Lead collaboration with strategic SI partners, supporting them in strengthening their sales, pre-sales, and service delivery capabilities and securing certifications
- Collaborate with various teams including Marketing, Partner Programs, Partner Enablement, Customer Success, and Solutions Consulting to drive pipeline generation and deal progression
- Participate in various training programs, including Sales Bootcamp, advanced sales training, and leadership/competency development programs
What you bring to the table
- 10+ years of channel/partner sales experience in complex matrix environments, working with Cloud Partners (CSPs) or AI-native partners that influence database selection
- Excellent proficiency in Korean and English
- Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate the business value of complex enterprise technologies
- A proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets
- Ability to identify and cultivate business champions and successfully manage complex sales processes
- High achievement drive, competitive nature, and self-motivated personality
- Strong time and resource management skills, and the ability to qualify sales opportunities
- Ability to learn quickly, build credibility, and possess high EQ and self-awareness

About the role

The Principal Partner Specialist focuses on executing high-impact partner strategies across Korea, developing and nurturing partnerships that open new revenue opportunities. You’ll work closely with leading partners and our sales teams to accelerate deals, expand partner capabilities, and strengthen MongoDB’s presence in this dynamic market.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Seoul for our hybrid working model.
What you will be doing
- Develop and execute strategic the partner strategy across the Cloud Service Providers(CSPs) and their ecosystem in Korea market, including AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, the affiliated cloud partners and AI partners who can influence the database selection on customer side(i.e. Megazone, Bespin, etc.).
- Recruit and develop effective partner relationships, resulting in growth opportunities and mutual beneficial partnerships.
- Proactively prospect, identify, qualify and develop a sales pipeline through CSPs, AI foundation model companies and their partners.
- Work with our Enterprise Sales team to close business to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual bookings objectives
- Lead engagement of target partners to develop their sales, pre-sales and delivery capabilities in line with our strategy of amplifying partners with capabilities and certifications to deliver for their customers.
- Work with cross functional teams including Marketing, Partner Programs, Partner Enablement, Customer Success, Solutions Consulting teams to drive pipeline generations and deal progression.
- Participate in our sales enablement trainings, including our comprehensive Sales Bootcamp, sophisticated sales training, and leadership and development programs
What you bring to the table
- 10+ years of quota-carrying experience generating pipeline and selling through Cloud Partners(CSPs) and/or emerging AI native partners who can influence the database selection in a heavy sales matrix model
- Fluent in Korean and English
- Demonstrated ability to articulate the business value of complex enterprise technology
- A track record of overachievement and hitting sales targets.
- Skills in building business champions and running a complex sales process
- Drive and a competitive nature: Possess a strong desire to be successful
- Skills in managing time and resources; sound approach to qualifying opportunities
- Aptitude to learn quickly and establish credibility, High EQ and self-aware
