Software, the fuel for mobility
We bring bold digital visions to life. So we’re on the lookout for more curious and creative engineers who want to create change – one line of high-quality code at a time. Our transformation isn't for everyone, but if you're excited about solving the leading-edge technological challenges facing the auto industry, then let’s talk about your next move.
Let's introduce ourselves
We are part of a Manufacturing Engineering Software organization responsible for securing the successful introduction of vehicle software into our manufacturing plants worldwide.
Our mission is to ensure that software products, diagnostic flows, and production processes are robust, efficient, and ready for series production. We work at the intersection of R&D, Manufacturing, and Plant Operations, enabling smooth launches, stable production systems, and continuous improvement across plants and platforms.
In this role, you will contribute directly to how software is industrialized and used in production — with real impact on vehicle quality, plant performance, and customer experience.
What you'll do
As a Manufacturing Engineering – Software Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging software development and manufacturing execution by:
- Securing the industrialization and plant introduction of vehicle software products
- Translating technical concepts into manufacturing‑ready requirements and solutions
- Developing and maintaining scripts, tools, and automation to support production systems and diagnostics
- Evaluating the technical feasibility of software and process solutions for manufacturing environments
- Supporting and optimizing production station performance, including stability, throughput, and diagnostics
- Collaborating closely with R&D teams during development, verification, and releases
- Supporting manufacturing and plant teams during launch phases and series production
- Participating in new product introductions, software updates, and change implementations
- Analyzing production issues and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Contributing to continuous improvement of software tools, processes, and ways of working
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you bring a solid technical foundation combined with a strong interest in manufacturing environments:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent
- Several years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production systems, software or embedded systems, preferably in an industrial or automotive context
- A strong understanding of software–hardware interaction in complex systems
- Experience working close to production environments, industrial systems, or plant operations
- Knowledge of areas such as:
- Software diagnostics, fault tracing, or embedded systems
- Scripting or automation (e.g. Python, CAPL, or similar)
- Diagnostic communication and logging (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, logs, monitoring tools)
- Software configuration, variant handling, or deployment processes
- Production or test systems, station software, or IT/OT solutions
- The ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive technical topics forward
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working across disciplines and organizations
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
