You will collaborate closely with gameplay, production, and infrastructure teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable online features that are consistent with the project's vision.
In this role, you will contribute as much to the organization and development of the team as you will to the technical quality of backend services in a live environment.
What you will do
- Coordinate online team activities by ensuring the planning, prioritization, and tracking of tasks related to backend services, progression, persistence, economy, and telemetry;
- Deliver online features from end to end, ensuring alignment between design, gameplay, client, and backend teams;
- Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team;
- Support team members in their professional development and the sharing of best practices;
- Collaborate closely with Unreal, Ubisoft services, and Live Ops teams to ensure consistent and maintainable integration;
- Implement robust backend systems including monitoring, incident management, migrations, alerts, and rollback procedures;
- Ensure the stability, observability, and scalability of online systems;
- Participate in technical and architectural decisions to support the project's technological vision;
- Occasionally contribute to programming to stay close to the team's technical realities;
- Communicate risks, priorities, and progress to production partners and other teams.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering (or equivalent training);
- Extensive experience in video game programming;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience managing a programming team;
- Excellent command of C++ and other languages used in game production;
- Participation in the full production of at least one video game in a programming or technical coordination role;
- Strong organizational skills, ability to track priorities, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills;
- Excellent communication, team coaching, and knowledge-sharing skills;
- Ability to maintain a calm and constructive approach in complex or changing contexts;
- Good understanding of video game production and the ability to collaborate effectively with different trades involved in development.
