  • $60K - $70K USD (U.S.-based candidates)

We're Not Looking for Employees. We're Looking for Builders. Level is looking for a Designer who can take an idea, a brief, or a rough concept and turn it into creative that actually performs. If you love the craft of design and the discipline of data in equal measure, this is your seat.

This Isn't for Everyone

This role moves fast, and it moves often. You'll juggle multiple live projects, tight platform specs, and feedback loops that don't wait around. You'll take direction well, but you'll also be expected to catch problems before they become someone else's problem.

Ambiguity is part of the job. Briefs won't always be complete. Specs will change mid-project. You'll need to make smart calls, ask sharp questions, and keep moving without losing quality along the way.

This is a collaborative seat, not a solo one. You'll work alongside strategists, copywriters, art directors, and developers, and you'll need to take feedback from senior creative team members and turn it into stronger work, every time. If you want static ownership over one lane and no exposure to performance data, this isn't the right fit. If you want to build creative that gets measured, tested, and improved, and you want to get better at that process every single day, keep reading.

About Level

Level is a performance marketing agency built for brands that expect more. We combine strategy, creative, media, and AI into one system designed to turn insight into compounding growth, not one-off wins.

We're remote-first, which means we hire the best people wherever they are and build a culture around trust, clear communication, and real accountability. Our team spans the US and Canada, and we're united by a simple belief: good enough isn't. We move fast, we tell the truth, and we care about the outcomes our work actually drives for clients, not just the output we produce.

We're building a diverse, high-performing team of people who take ownership, push each other to improve, and genuinely enjoy doing great work together.

Your Role (and Impact)

As a Designer on Level's Creative team, you'll create digital-first visual content across formats, including paid ads, social content, landing pages, and email, that aligns with client brand standards and drives real business outcomes. You'll work both independently and collaboratively to concept, design, and deliver creative that's built to perform, using AI-assisted tools where they help you move faster, iterate smarter, or test more.

This is a multidisciplinary role. You'll move across design platforms and emerging creative technologies, and your work will directly shape how client campaigns land and how well they convert.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute visual design work from concept through final delivery across digital formats: paid ads, social, web, email, and display.
  • Design creative for major ad platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others) with a performance-first mindset.
  • Apply brand guidelines and creative best practices consistently across all assets.
  • Take projects from initial idea to completion, collaborating with creative strategists, copywriters, art directors, and developers.
  • Take direction and feedback from senior creative team members and apply it to your work.
  • Partner with client services, strategy, and media teams to make sure creative supports campaign goals from the start.
  • Support quick-turn requests, including resizing, editing, and asset clean-up.
  • Use data and feedback to refine designs after launch.
  • Use AI tools as part of your everyday workflow for rapid concepting, image generation, content variations, and iteration.
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, AI capabilities, and platform updates.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Your creative holds up across every platform it touches. No scrambling to fix specs or brand misses after launch.
  • You're using performance data to make the next round of work better, not just producing and moving on.
  • You've built AI into your actual process. It shows up in your speed and iteration, not just as a checkbox.
  • You need less direction over time. Early on, you're leaning on senior feedback. Later, you're catching issues and making strong calls on your own.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • 3 to 4+ years of experience or equivalent education.
  • A strong portfolio showing digital ad design and branding work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how they fit into a design workflow.
  • Understanding of digital ad formats and platform best practices.
  • Knowledge of UX principles, responsive design, and accessibility.
  • Strong time management across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Digital marketing agency experience.
  • Basic video editing, animation, or motion graphics experience.

AI Expectations

At Level, AI is a tool for thoughtful acceleration, not a replacement for judgment. You'll be expected to use AI tools as part of your everyday design process: rapid concepting, image generation, content variations, and iteration, so you can move faster and test more without sacrificing quality.

We want you experimenting with new tools and workflows as they emerge, and we want you staying sharp about where AI helps and where your own eye, taste, and strategic judgment matter most. You own the final creative decision every time, AI just helps you get there faster.

Our Core Values

  • No Ego, All In

We don't do "that's not my job." We win together.

  • Better Every Day

We want the feedback—even when it stings.

  • Relentless for Results

    Activity is nothing without outcomes.

  • Driven by Truth

We challenge assumptions and follow the data.

Perks & Benefits

At Level, we support our people across the U.S. and Canada with benefits designed to promote flexibility, wellbeing, and long-term growth.

  • Fully remote across the U.S. & Canada, plus monthly WFH stipend and Summer Fridays
  • Generous time off, including unlimited PTO (U.S.), competitive vacation (Canada), and parental/family leave options
  • Comprehensive health benefits, mental health support, and company-paid disability & life coverage
  • Employer retirement contributions (401(k) in the U.S., RRSP match in Canada)
  • Quarterly performance reviews and career advancement opportunities

This role is open to U.S. and Canada residents. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

Level Is Built on Inclusion

We are committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Level is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind and celebrate what makes you, you—regardless of race, gender identity, age, disability status, sexual orientation, or background.

We're Not Looking for Employees. We're Looking for Builders.

Level is looking for a Designer who can transform an idea, a brief, or a rough concept into creative that actually performs. If you love the craft of design as much as the rigor of data, this role is for you.

This Role Isn't for Everyone

This role moves fast, and often. You'll juggle multiple live projects at once, tight platform specifications, and feedback loops that don't wait. You'll take direction well, but you'll also be expected to spot problems before they become someone else's problem.

Ambiguity is part of the job. Briefs won't always be complete. Specifications will change mid-project. You'll need to exercise good judgment, ask the right questions, and keep moving without sacrificing quality.

This is a collaborative role, not a siloed one. You'll work alongside strategists, copywriters, art directors, and developers, and you'll need to take feedback from senior creative team members and turn it into even stronger work, every time. If you're looking for a static role, limited to one area and disconnected from performance data, this isn't the right position for you. But if you want to create content that gets measured, tested, and improved, and you want to progress in that process every day, keep reading.
