Position Summary

TheCommunity Outreach Representative willbe responsible for community outreach and recruitment efforts fortheadolescent health program.The objective of the adolescent health programis to equip adults with knowledge and skills to deliver trauma-informed care andbuild trusted adult-adolescent relationships, and, in turn promote adolescent resilience andpositivemental health.Thisposition will involve a diverse range of activities thatwillstrengthencommunity partnerships;promotecommunity engagement;increasecommunity awareness on topics related to trauma-informed care, adolescent resiliency, andmental health;recruitparticipants forprojectsconducted as part of the adolescent health program; and expand the visibility of the adolescent health program in Franklin County.The Community Outreach Representativewillserve as theorganizer of the adolescent health program’sstakeholder advisory groupsandcoalitionsandwillwork to expand the reach and impact of theadolescent health program within the community.

Furthermore, theCommunity Outreach Representativeshould display shared responsibility and collective action to address childhood adversity and its impacts throughout life.The ideal candidate will be committed to elevating the health and wellbeing of adolescents in Franklin County and believe in the importance of building trusted adult-adolescent relationships.This position will work closely with the project team, including the Project Director, Adolescent Health Coordinator,SteeringGroup, andStakeholderAdvisoryGroupsand coalitions. This position will report to the Project Director of the Adolescent Health Program, Dr. Lindsay Sullivan.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the organizer ofstakeholder advisory groups and coalitionsandworkscloselywith the Adolescent Health Coordinator.

  • Identifies, builds, and fostersrelationships with community partners.

  • Works collaboratively with community stakeholders.

  • Coordinates and participates in events that provide visibility for the adolescent health programin Franklin County.

  • Developsnew outreach and education programsfor adolescent serving agencies and professionals.

  • Collaborates with the Adolescent Health Coordinator on coalition building, stakeholder engagement, agenda development, training needs, planning, and other coalition-related tasks as needed.

  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of a workplan to achieve the deliverables of the grant.

  • Createsplans to promote sustainability ofprogramactivities.

  • Plans, schedules, andco-facilitatesadvisory committee meetings to gather information for strategic planning.

  • Workswith the project team to address training, technical assistance, and capacity building requestedby our community partners.

  • Assists the Adolescent Health Coordinator to coordinate data collection activities, including surveys, focus groups, and key informant interviews as necessary.

  • Preparesand disseminatesinformation to community partners and the public to promote a better understanding of the goals of the adolescent health program.

  • Communicates effectively withagencies orcommunity centerssupportingadolescents.

  • Remains current on adolescent health issues including childhood trauma (ACEsandtheirimpactontheoverall mental healthand well-beingof adolescents).

  • Responsibilitiesinvolve travel within Franklin County. A flexible daily schedule may be necessary.

  • Attends team meetings and assists with other duties as needed.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned and necessary.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Must show evidence of training and skills in cultural competency and cultural humility.
